The more you know of your history . . . | Blog of a Future Librarian:

The more you know of your history . . . October 18, 2015. Originally posed on my LIBR200 Blog on FEBRUARY 15, 2015 4:33 AM. The information community I have chosen is family historians. Family historians are not professional genealogists. They are people who research their family history as a hobby or pastime. With the internet making us more connected family history is one area that has been made more accessible to people who are interested in researching their family. Have websites hosted by Rootsweb.
About | Blog of a Future Librarian:
https://futurelibrarianblog.wordpress.com/about
My name is Rachel Walters I am a MLS student at San José State University (SJSU) i.School. Straight out of high school I had attended college received an Associates in American Sign Language (ASL). I did not know where I wanted to go afterwards. In 2008 I found myself laid off during the recession. Being laid off and not able to even find temporary work I had more than enough time for self-evaluation. It seemed I had worked forever to get to this point. Leave a Reply Cancel reply. About 15 years ago I caught the end of one of The Librarian movies and I loved it! At that time I didn’t realize that I wanted to be a librarian. Looking back I am actually surprised that it didn’t make me consider it though.

The hardest part of watching someone die - Tyranny of Pink
http://tyrannyofpink.com/2015/08/14/the-hardest-part-of-watching-someone-die
That time I nearly died. In the Media / Features. The hardest part of watching someone die. I always thought to myself that sudden death. Was the worst kind on those who are left behind. I thought that dying without notice and without getting to say goodbye was the most selfish of all acts. After all, we are left behind with all our questions and our unfinished conversations. We are left to wonder, on our own. We are left without knowing what could have been. We are left. Do you want to sleep? And we are...

Insights from the WhoHas pilot. Andy Priestner, FutureLib Project Manager. Over to Paul…. I thought it would be useful and possibly even interesting to share recent progress with our SpaceFinder project since Kirsten’s excellent post two weeks ago. Firstly I should say if you don’t know what SpaceFinder is yet the very best thing you can do is go back and read that post. As it tells you everything you need to know. So what has happened since then? Well, quite a lot actually…. 8221; said no librarian ever...

My plan is to give you some bullet points of who suggested the book, my arbitrary rating of it, and a summary of what I liked and didn’t like about that book. Then, I’ll give you a bit more details for where you can find more information about the author, as well as encouragement to check your local library’s online catalog to see if they own it. Monday, May 17, 2010. Proof Miley Cyrus may just be growing up.a bit too fast? Okay I wasn't sure I wanted to post this because parents and some kids want to think of Miley Cyrus and have visions of the wholesome Hannah Montana.but I just came across it yesterday and it's a bit racy for Ms. Cyrus but then again, hasn't she slowly been losing her good-girl image and searching for an older audience? Thursday, September 14, 2017. Flannel Friday- A Good Day For a Hat. I don't make many flannels these days, but when I saw "A Good Day for a Hat" by T. Nat Fuller, illustrated by Rob Hodgson I knew it would be a perfect choice to extend with flannel. I don't have a template to share this time- I just cut everything freehand! First off, who doesn't love a good hat storytime? So fun. (Head over to EverydayDiversity.com. To find some inclusive books to add to your theme! But when he stepped outside. At the e...
