Earth Train: October 2007
http://oz-travel.blogspot.com/2007_10_01_archive.html
Stories from my travels and details on the trains, buses and boats that got me there. Wednesday, October 17, 2007. Into the countryside: Hoi An. Our next stop was Hoi An, a smaller town along the central coast of Vietnam known for its tailor shops, where Guillermo and I spent more than a few hours pouring over fashion magazines and books, picking out fabric and getting measured for a few made-to-order suits and jackets (after all, I will eventually need to get a job! Thursday, October 11, 2007. In additi...

Stories from my travels and details on the trains, buses and boats that got me there. Sunday, September 30, 2007. While having a hot chocolate the other day, we were lucky enough to meet Eleanor, an Australian woman who lives here in Shangrila and works for an NGO called the Eastern Tibetan Training and Language Institute (ETLI). As part of their mission, ETIL runs a school that teaches English and other hospitality-focused skills to a growing number of local children (about 50 this year).

Stories from my travels and details on the trains, buses and boats that got me there. Wednesday, August 15, 2007. Words I've taught my office mates:. FAR/ floor area ratio. I often write these words down, at their request, and I looked back over the various scraps of paper today. Its fun to try and remember the conversations that spurred these words (alien = looking at my sister's ultrasound. A boy! I also like the two basic themes present: food and planning. The basics. Earth Train: July 2007
http://oz-travel.blogspot.com/2007_07_01_archive.html
Stories from my travels and details on the trains, buses and boats that got me there. Saturday, July 28, 2007. Back home in Tulsa, folks tend to say things like "bigger than Dallas" or "everything's bigger in Texas." I wonder if the locals say things like "bigger than Beijing" - because everything in here is BIG, and the artist's colony known as 798 is no exception. Mount the clouds and ride the mist. A jeweled palace on the mountain of the immortals. To try and fish the moon from the bottom of the sea.

Done with Dawdling!: July 2008
http://donewithdawdling.blogspot.com/2008_07_01_archive.html
Wednesday, July 30, 2008. Don't have a cow man. I have been a bit slow this week in getting things accomplished on my list. I started a new job on Monday, but I can't really use that as an excuse since it's only part time. But I did make some progress in getting funding for the COG (Colors of Green Committee). I have to work on a proposal and try to get it out by Friday.no pressure. Tuesday, July 29, 2008. Shaken but not stirred. Friday, July 25, 2008. This is exactly what I need! I also love the Hipster...

Earth Train: A Dog's Life
http://oz-travel.blogspot.com/2007/09/dogs-life.html
Stories from my travels and details on the trains, buses and boats that got me there. Saturday, September 29, 2007. Anyway, even though I love big dogs (according to my mother I've been introducing myself to random, large dogs on the street since I was at least 3 years old) I would not have posted anything about them except that Shi Lo's story is just too good not to share. I was amazed when I heard this story - especially since most dogs I know would be at the shop getting sausage all the time. For the ...

Earth Train: Goodbye China, Hello Hanoi!
http://oz-travel.blogspot.com/2007/10/goodbye-china-hello-hanoi.html
Stories from my travels and details on the trains, buses and boats that got me there. Tuesday, October 9, 2007. Goodbye China, Hello Hanoi! I'm missing a few photos from my last days in China due to some unfortunate circumstances, but once Guillermo gets around to posting his pictures from our last few adventures in China (a trip north to the Deqin area near the ominous - if gorgeous - snow-capped mountains in Fa La Si and a short jaunt through Kunming), I'll add some here. Into the countryside: Hoi An.
