teaching emotional understanding : gallian

I teach a daily social skills group to teenagers with severe communication challenges. I am autistic myself. I find this ironic at times. However, what I find most striking is the unwillingness of my students, on and off the spectrum, to identify negative emotions. I have come to believe it is the way that we teach this skill that is flawed, not our students' ability to acquire the concepts. I see four steps to productive intervention:. The incredible 5 point scale seems an obvious tool to use here.

A stressful (or at least, stressed) day, but I came home at the end of it feeling quite good. Certainly a lot better than I anticipated when I left for work. Why? Post a new comment. The Coasters are in the Mythology Section. Drinking Whiskey and Rye. November 17th, 2014. I recently bought a bottle of Rye Whiskey in Harvard Square. The clerk and I chatted. I learned that there's been a rash of students buying Rye because it's "Gluten Free.". But all distilled liquors are gluten free," I pointed out. Aug 5th, 2007 @ 10:19 pm. She's always had difficulty regulating her temperature, which for a long time we thought was the only lasting effect of her prematurity. Now I'm wondering if that, too, could be just another one of these sensory issues we're seeing more of lately. She also has never slept well, which I've attributed to various things (including weaning her off pheno (anticonvulsant).argh, nightmare! But maybe that's related too.
