Early August heat – lucindagardens
https://lucindagardens.wordpress.com/2015/08/03/early-august-heat
August 3, 2015. August 3, 2015. As I mentioned on my lucindalines site just a few minutes ago, we were away from the garden for three days at the end of July, and the wind and the heat took advantage of our absence. The cucumbers that I picked this morning showed signs of no water stress. I grabbed the hose and ran it for nearly half an hour in the cucumbers, zucchini and the marigolds. Cucumbers in the background on the fence. The bed of carrots, beets and cabbage with yellow zucchini in the background.

Cooler weather/more harvest – lucindagardens
https://lucindagardens.wordpress.com/2015/08/18/cooler-weathermore-harvest
August 18, 2015. Paulina dug some potatoes for the stews we made tonight and I pulled out a few carrots. This is what they looked like. I am afraid that I took the largest ones, so we will have to let the rest grow a little longer before we pull any more. Potatoes and tomatoes we picked today. Sunflowers and corn from the angle of the dike. Roger wanted to be in the picture too. The vine garden in full bloom. 5 thoughts on “ Cooler weather/more harvest. August 18, 2015 at 3:37 pm. Day: August 15, 2015. August 15, 2015. August 15, 2015. Full field of corn. Corn field edged with hay bales. The yellow of the sunflowers really grabs me. As much as I complained about them this summer with the bugs we added to the garden, I can’t wait until ours bloom, and I did see one of the plants in the flower garden has a hint of yellow today. Full field of wheat. I like this one. She likes this one. Follow lucindagardens on WordPress.com. Paulina’s pictures of flowers. First tomatoes in the jars.

July 28, 2016. Paulina also snapped a different angle of the Echinacea. I forgot to tell her that they were back and blooming. For some reason they didn’t come up last year. I don’t know if the daisies crowded them or what, but I did trip off the dead daisies this year and that has sort of helped some of the other plants in that area. July 27, 2016. More blooms to share. July 25, 2016. July 25, 2016. Favorite color of zinnia. Flowers, flowers every where! July 24, 2016. Flowers in the garden. I also foun...

Produce in variety – lucindagardens
https://lucindagardens.wordpress.com/2015/07/28/produce-in-variety
July 28, 2015. Window in the bathroom. This is the window in the bathroom with a straight shot view of the garden. Actually straight isn’t a good word. From this window you see that the garden is more of a rhombus than a square, but we have slowly been correcting that over the years. Note the overhang outside. Southeast view of window seat. Some of the peas. The shop also takes a good brunt of the wind from the north too. That is all for now, Happy Gardening! Garden treats, the beginning. Follow lucindag...

Flowers – lucindagardens
https://lucindagardens.wordpress.com/2015/08/13/flowers
August 13, 2015. I just wanted to share how the flowers are doing. As you can see in the background of this first picture the zinnias are doing very well. There is more than an abundance of them and they are so tall. James thinks they are crowding out the beans, but I think they are doing far more good than any harm. I always think of the song “Wildflower” by New Birth. 8220;Let her cry. For she’s a lady. For she’s a child. Let the rain fall down upon her. She’s a free and gentle flower growing wild.
