Ascend, act four. ASCEND ACT FOUR: The Station. The recorded sounds fade in. A single bright- white spotlight flickers on to spot the youth who stands downstage centre. Lifelessly, subdued, with empty emotion). Our new man-made earth. There are 4000 of us here. We live in white square rooms, with white tiled floors and clean white ceilings. There are forty-seven levels of long straight corridors with rooms, like grids, lining either side of the corridor. Ascend offers us everything that Earth once had.
