Beef Crockatorre (Or, the lamest title ever for a really good dish) | Gayle Made

https://gaylemade.wordpress.com/2011/02/01/beef-crockatorre-or-the-lamest-title-ever-for-a-really-good-dish

Sharing stuff with the blogosphere. Beef Crockatorre (Or, the lamest title ever for a really good dish). February 1, 2011. Admittedly, that title up there blows. Or sucks. Or is just plain awful. But I promise you, this dish will make you forgive me for the lack of creativity in the post title. This makes a lot. A lot, a lot. Fortunately, it freezes really well, so don’t be scared of the quantity. Crock Pot Beef Cacciatore. 2 lbs beef stew meat, cut into chunks (I used top round). 15 cups of dry red wine.

Sharing stuff with the blogosphere. I Made a Casserole, and I Liked It. February 23, 2011. You heard me–the hater of all things creamy, gloopy, mixed together, and baked–actually cooked a casserole. And loved it. This is really rich, so serve it with just a simple salad. 1 small can FF evaporated milk. 2-3 cups cooked cubed or shredded chicken. Cup chopped fresh cilantro. 8 oz sliced mushrooms, either raw or sauteed (optional). 1 cup low fat sour cream. 2-3 cups chicken broth. 2a Melt the butter over med...

Creamy, Chile, Chowder | Gayle Made

Sharing stuff with the blogosphere. Creamy, Chile, Chowder. October 28, 2010. Chipotle Chicken Corn Chowder. Originally uploaded by gaylemade. Given a choice, Mr. Alfa would either eat something creamy or pasta-riffic every day of the week. I’m not a huge fan of cream sauces or anything milky, in general. I love pasta, but geez, once a week is plenty. Knock yourself out. Got plain corn, instead of roasted? I won’t try to stop you. It’s the 100th edition of the BSI challenge. Sharing stuff with the blogosphere. Because even I must take a break from the kitchen sometime…. Here’s a sneak peek at some of the hand-forged wearable art jewelry I’ve been whipping up in my humble basement jewelry studio. I’m currently working mostly with copper, freshwater pearls, velvet, and leather…but you never know where inspiration will lead me next. Leave one →. October 26, 2010 4:33 pm. Very nice. They have a very warm feel to them. October 26, 2010 6:15 pm. I love the pearl pod! November 19, ...

Tagine and the Pantry of Doom | Gayle Made

https://gaylemade.wordpress.com/2010/11/03/tagine-and-the-pantry-of-doom

Sharing stuff with the blogosphere. Tagine and the Pantry of Doom. November 3, 2010. The end result: A crock pot chicken tagine that sounds like it would be weird, but was wonderful in a way that was unexpected. Really hearty, earthy, flavorful, and satisfying. As a side note, I entered this recipe in the BSI challenge for chiles. 8211;hey, it’s got Harissa, and that’s mostly chiles. Apricot and Olive Chicken Tagine. 2 tsps paprika (I used smoked paprika, but any kind would work). 2 tsp ground coriander.

http://magicjewball.com/2013/04/02/ill-hear-your-voice-everywhere

All signs point to no. I’ll hear your voice everywhere. April 2, 2013. I wanted to say some things about my dad before I semi-retire this blog. It’s semi because maybe I’ll want to come back some day. In the meantime, I am thinking about blogging someplace new about adventures in lifestyle change. It would be more exciting than it sounds. I hope. Now we use them every day. I remember riding the haunted house ride and it stopped for some mechanical difficulty while our car was tilted backwards. Ah...My fa...

All signs point to no. Change is gonna do me good. April 8, 2013. As a follow-up to the “semi-retiring this blog, starting a new one” part of the last post, this is the official moving announcement. Like that. I am both thrilled and terrified. The new blog is where I’ll talk about all of that. Faithful readers will have seen many hints of this project, from the very beginning where I returned to Baltimore, to more recent talk of longing for change and light. So I hope to see you over there! Just your ave...

All signs point to no. Sunlight on the lino. April 23, 2012. Here is my new strategy: stop avoiding the blog because I’m never inspired to write the posts I have on my agenda (and add to that my Blogoversary… I missed that, too) and just write posts as I’m inspired. You know, like I used to. In that spirit…. I’ve talked a lot in the past about the notion of home. And even given a tour of places I have lived in two different. Have you discovered the 1940 census. What the census inspired me to do, because ...

All signs point to no. May 10, 2010. What happens when it’s late at night, I’m in a melancholy mood thinking about the past, and I have final projects due for school? That’s right, I start looking for The White Whale, one of the best and coolest friends I ever had who has a common name and seemingly no Internet presence at all, and who has vanished off the face of the earth. It’s 4am but Captain Ahab, I think I found her. A missive has been sent. How will I ever fall asleep now? Ments for this post.

One Bite at a Time. A lip-smacking journey through my attempts to recreate food memories, create new favorites, and packing cute lunches, all taken one bite at a time. Friday, July 31, 2009. The cookie monster strikes! I think I'm starting to remember why I don't bake that often. It's because I can't stop eating what I've baked. :). So after spending a few hours shopping, I came home starving for lunch. No evil cookies here, just chicken and some lettuce and tomatoes. Look who decided to show up! Atlanta...

One Bite at a Time. A lip-smacking journey through my attempts to recreate food memories, create new favorites, and packing cute lunches, all taken one bite at a time. Sunday, August 2, 2009. Yes, I'm rather fond of alliterative titles. Yesterday wasn't one of my best eating days, but it certainly wasn't my worst. First things first - if you go grocery shopping when you haven't eaten, then you're asking for it. After the movie, I went grocery shopping and got lots of good healthy food for the week. I've ...

One Bite at a Time. A lip-smacking journey through my attempts to recreate food memories, create new favorites, and packing cute lunches, all taken one bite at a time. Tuesday, January 27, 2009. I LOVE fried chicken, but hate how greasy and nasty I feel afterward. It still doesn't stop me from getting cravings every few months or so and hitting up Popeye's or KFC! It's very easy, requires less than 5 ingredients (not counting seasonings), and tastes like you're cheating. A few things though:. Take a deep...

One Bite at a Time. A lip-smacking journey through my attempts to recreate food memories, create new favorites, and packing cute lunches, all taken one bite at a time. Thursday, August 6, 2009. An on the go kind of day. Wow, I didn't even realize how close I was to 150 posts! I guess they add up when you post more often. :P. Sands of Wingaersheek Beach. The beach at Wingaersheek is wonderful in the summer with white sand, clear water, and huge rocks for children (and adults) to climb upon. This painting was completed in the fall when the beach is isolated and the painters can have the beach for ourselves. Here the shadows on the sand and the effects of the breeze on the grasses caught my attention. Welcome to my website! Please use the menu above to view my paintings. If you would like to contact me,.
