Over the Columbus Day weekend I took my last NFCT trip for the season and headed up North to Dead River Township to paddle the Dead River from below Long Falls Dam to Spencer Stream. Until reading about this trip at Trash Paddlers site http:/ www.trashpaddler.com/2010/09/nfct-stratton-me-to-grand-falls-return.html. I didn’t know it was possible to do this section as a down and back trip. I got th...

Various adventures with members of the Gill family. Friday, September 3, 2010. Day 6 and 7 Mud Pond Carry to Chamberlain Bridge. A ¾ mile paddle leads to a nice campsite but Brad insisted we do another ¾ miles to cross over to Gravel Beach in case the wind picked up over night. Patty and Brad practiced surfing in the waves. Eastern Terminus: Fort Kent, Maine | Rough Water Gypsies
https://canoegypsies.wordpress.com/2011/06/30/eastern-terminus-fort-kent-maine
Just another WordPress.com site. Eastern Terminus: Fort Kent, Maine. Two young men stand underneath a NFCT sign and talk about the limited chance that anyone would start in New York and come up to “nowhere” Maine. Enter the Rough Water Gypsies at 5pm, June 29, 2011. We beached in Fort Kent and showed these young men otherwise. More to come after some much deserved celebrations, 4th of July here we come. Laquo; Last post from on the trail? Date : June 30, 2011. Well done, congratulations, have a great 4th.

http://crookedblueline.blogspot.com/2009/04/canoe-glendale-narrows-la-river.html
Wednesday, April 15, 2009. Canoe The Glendale Narrows, L.A. River? I remember climbing down the green rebar. Ladders, the ends of tree branches wrapped with old tee-shirts, doused in lighter fluid setting out to explore the tributary tunnels along Verdugo. Road in Glendale, kicking up water from the anemic trickle that is the LA river on a hot California summers day. Never did we think to lower boats down underneath the Glenoaks. A dozen intrepid Angelenos. Http:/ pr-usa.net/index.php? A place to daydream.

Tuesday, August 24, 2010. I didn't want the extra 6 lbs of lenses and tripods, cameras and cases. I didnt want canon sureshot-snapshots of campy faces, I wanted lightweight and control over aperture so I brought along the Holga, the best and worst of modern photography. Saturday, March 20, 2010. Lightweight, Wood-Fired, Gourmet Range. You want food to match the collage, the confluence of color and smell the river represents. You want to taste it, its banks and eddies, in fresh ingredients the Native Penobscot ate. The right tools, be it glowing birch coal, French sea salt or pair of tongs, coax the meal from the pot or grill, enliven the spirits of the ingredient, not the cook.
