A Movie a Week. Monday, May 25, 2009. Sometimes I feel like maybe I want to drink a smoothie but I also feel like maybe I want to eat french fries. I frequently end up with mushy, blendorized. A Movie a Week. Monday, June 29, 2009. The Taking of Pelham 123 (2009). This is apparently the second remake of this film. Third time is not the charm here. What kind of man talks about stocks and has a lot of money? At this point the drool is pouring down the side of my face and my eyes are completely rolled back in my head. Even Terry Schiavo was insulted by how condescending they were to our brain capacity. Cue some ridiculous decisions that get people killed and some other terribly written moments.

A Movie a Week. Thursday, August 27, 2009. I had previously watched the non-Redux version of Apocalypse Now and was blown away by it. It even made it into my list of my top 10 favorite films. So when I saw the "authoritative" director's cut at the used book store where I had store credit it was a no-brainer to pick it up. A Movie a Week. Monday, July 6, 2009. The Squid and the Whale. The Squid and the Whale is about a family going through divorce. The parents are both writers and have two boys, a high schooler and a middle schooler? Having said that, I would say this is still a "good" movie, it was just tough for me to watch.
