There were approximately 240,000 Jews in Amsterdam prior to WWII; however, only 800 returned to Amsterdam from concentration camps after the war. There are about 33,000 in Amsterdam now. Our flight is delayed to Paris…so I shall try to finish up our great time in Amsterdam. The canal system in Amsterdam certainly rivals that of Venice! We unfortunately took a canal cruise in the rain (provided by Tauck when we arrived), but the following day the sun was out in force – lucky us! Kayaking was the thing to do, too.
