The Vol Abroad: October 2010
http://thevolabroad.blogspot.com/2010_10_01_archive.html
The rantings and musings of a Tennessee expat and long term London resident. Sunday, October 31, 2010. The clocks went back last night in the UK, so perhaps I did get to sleep in just a little bit before the three year old stomped into our bedroom and threw himself into our bed, and said "Wakey, wakey". He twitched the curtains above our head to let in a smidgeon of damp, gray light. The Scottish contingency and farmers have been vociferously protesting against the double summer time idea. Personally, I'...

The Vol Abroad: August 2010
http://thevolabroad.blogspot.com/2010_08_01_archive.html
The rantings and musings of a Tennessee expat and long term London resident. Tuesday, August 31, 2010. Who's still in the neighborhood? So I'm taking off my jacket, changing my shoes, putting on my cardigan and checking out my blog roll here to see who's still in the neighborhood. Ariedana's link gives me a 404, but she's one of the few I've kept up with. So, I know she's over here now. Is still keeping pretty busy. Still here and talking about squirrel hunting. Haiku of the Id. A gal from my home town, ...

http://thevolabroad.blogspot.com/2009_07_01_archive.html
The rantings and musings of a Tennessee expat and long term London resident. Tuesday, July 28, 2009. The end is not the end. Faithful readers.I'm hanging up The Vol Abroad. Over the last nine months or so, I haven't been able to maintain my blogging presence here, so I'm pulling the plug. However, being someone with a pathological need to blog, I'm setting up a new blog. Wwwmyfirstname mysurnameinitial (that's all one word) .wordpress.com. There's not much there now, it takes time. The Vol Abroad: The budding photographer
http://thevolabroad.blogspot.com/2011/06/budding-photographer.html
The rantings and musings of a Tennessee expat and long term London resident. Tuesday, June 21, 2011. When Buddy was a baby, he loved to pose for the camera. Now at four, like his mom, he much prefers to be behind the camera. He's always asking me to hold and use the camera. And he's fairly careful with it (although he still has a tendency to get fingerprints on the lens, grrrr). Did you do much editing. They really are amazing portraits. 21 June, 2011 18:17. 21 June, 2011 22:50. Bill (can I call him that?

The Vol Abroad: June 2011
http://thevolabroad.blogspot.com/2011_06_01_archive.html
The rantings and musings of a Tennessee expat and long term London resident. Friday, June 24, 2011. Four-year-old Buddy and I saw this butterfly - a pretty thing. Orange. We talked about how we liked butterflies and whether I liked them. (I do). And whether I liked caterpillars (I don't, they eat my plants). And metamorphosis. Caterpillars turn into butterflies," Buddy said. I was impressed. "That's right! Links to this post. Tuesday, June 21, 2011. Links to this post. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Cup of ...

The Vol Abroad: Descending into the Wandle Wasteland...
http://thevolabroad.blogspot.com/2011/04/descending-into-wandle-wasteland.html
The rantings and musings of a Tennessee expat and long term London resident. Wednesday, April 06, 2011. Descending into the Wandle Wasteland. How a fun family outing turned into a Cormac McCarthy novel. So on the first warm day of the year, I took the boy and his cross bow down to the Wandle Wildlife Park - or as it actually is.and abandoned, filled in and overgrown wastewater treatment plant which sits underneath a major powerline pathway: the Wandle Wasteland. We dragged it out into the open and played...

The Vol Abroad: April 2011
http://thevolabroad.blogspot.com/2011_04_01_archive.html
The rantings and musings of a Tennessee expat and long term London resident. Saturday, April 16, 2011. We're off to America soon, land of cheap children's clothing (and cute). So we did a big old clear out of Buddy's closet. I've been putting off buying any new trousers for the boy thinking we could make do, but the poor lad has had several growth spurts so other than a couple of trousers he's been mostly wearing high waters. Still these pictures should be handy for future blackmail. Do I feel guilty?

The Vol Abroad: November 2010
http://thevolabroad.blogspot.com/2010_11_01_archive.html
The rantings and musings of a Tennessee expat and long term London resident. Sunday, November 07, 2010. As you are not. Thanks to the wonders of Twitter, I caught the story about the little boy who dressed as Daphne. Before it made the headlines. When there were 20 comments on the blog, not 15,000. And they were all supportive. My initial response was to be positive, too. If the kid wants to be Daphne - then what do I care? And my next thoughts were since when does Daphne wear a pink dress? My son someti...

The Vol Abroad: Project potty mouth - help please!
http://thevolabroad.blogspot.com/2011/04/project-potty-mouth-help-please.html
The rantings and musings of a Tennessee expat and long term London resident. Sunday, April 10, 2011. Project potty mouth - help please! I'm a fairly indiscriminate swearer and I use words that the Federal Communications Commission would frown on. By and large, I'm an HBO level swearer. Lots of Fs but never Cs. I've already tried to stop and every time I utter a profanity I end up swearing at my slip. Resulting in twice as much swearing! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Subscribe in a reader. Descendin...
