girlwithapassport

Saturday, May 12, 2012. Bright Lights, Big City. Having now lived in Singapore for about 6 months, my husband and I decided it was about time to explore its bigger, badder cousin.the dynamic Hong Kong. A city known for excess, culinary delights, space constraints and nights that end in the morning, HK lived up to our expectations. Oriented night. Being an expat myself, I felt completely at home, but intrigued at how dichotomous the scene actually is in Hong Kong. Anyway, I suppose that's neither ...Hong ...

girlwithapassport: December 2011

http://girlwithapassport.blogspot.com/2011_12_01_archive.html

Wednesday, December 7, 2011. The transition to Singapore has been fairly seamless. As far as lifestyle is concerned, Singapore is as far West as it is East. Its infrastructure works efficiently and the language barrier is practically non-existent as most everyone speaks English. And although there are no seasons here, it's not very hard to adjust to 85 degree weather year-round. The culture shock, as a result, has been at the bare minimum. Girl With a Passport. Monday, December 5, 2011. No, not for you?

girlwithapassport: November 2011

http://girlwithapassport.blogspot.com/2011_11_01_archive.html

Friday, November 25, 2011. The Malays, Chinese, Indians, Singaporeans, British, Americans? Again, the Malays, Chinese, Indians, British, and Americans. It's a wonderful mix of neither here nor there, and I feel completely at home. Singapore bound I was and Singapore here I am. Girl With a Passport. Tuesday, November 15, 2011. Leaving on a Jet Plane. What if I hated it there? Worse, what if I loved it and I never wanted to come back? But, as the saying (doesn't) go, you never know if you don't go!

girlwithapassport: Getting What You Want

http://girlwithapassport.blogspot.com/2012/05/getting-what-you-want.html

Thursday, May 10, 2012. Getting What You Want. Gossip Girl (yes, I realize this is NOT an actual person) once said, "The problem with getting what you want is that someone is always trying to take it away.maybe it's better when you get what you need instead." I find this to be somewhat sage advice. So on to stage 5 - and whatever this new life has in store for me! Girl With a Passport. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Girl With a Passport. girl with a paintbrush

Girl with a paintbrush. My work is focused on finding the beauty in the most unlikely of places, In particular, in the structure of deadly diseases and bacteria. I break down these organisms to their smallest microscopic forms, revealing the abstract and organic structures. I present them to the viewer stripped of their stigmas and preconceptions, allowing the viewer to consider them in a new way. Can beauty really be found in the darkest of places?
