The Dragon's Well 茶: April 2014
http://thedragonswell.blogspot.com/2014_04_01_archive.html
Friday, April 4, 2014. Rou Gui Cha (premium) • 肉桂茶. After first sampling Rou Gui cha at Kkik Da Geo. I was so taken by it that I dreamed that I'd returned to the tea shop with a giant tortuous and loaded its back with as much Rou Gui cha as it could carry (it had a traditional Korean "jigae", an wooden A-frame usually used for carrying wood on your back, customized to fit its shell), then slowly lead it out the door. http://teadork.blogspot.com/2013_05_01_archive.html
May 30, 2013. As I posted yesterday, I received both the Zeda And Jukro 2013 Sejak teas from Sam of Good Green Tea. In the mail a few days ago. I have never had the pleasure of trying any of Zeda,s teas before so.lets get the party rolling and discover what we have here. As it states on the packet, Grown in the Hwaegae Valley of South Korea, known for producing high quality green tea. Heavenly mellow aroma, sweet note with a touch of vegetation. That,s more like it, isn,t it? If you have never had fresh ...

Tea Goober: December 2010
http://teadork.blogspot.com/2010_12_01_archive.html
December 9, 2010. The Taming Of The Shu. Isn't that a corny title? Well, at least it's appropriate for the issue at hand. 2006 is the year that Menghai won the Gold Award for the V93 tuocha, and this is the same tea from the same year. I had bought these when they first became available (six years ago) and they have been in storage ever since. Still available (here). But at about twice the price they sold for when first released. December 4, 2010. Ding Gu Da Fang. I always feel a little guilty about havi...

Though they don't say who the maker is they do state that it's handmade from wild tea bushes. To find the tea and tea wares on Antiques Alive click on "For The Table" section. The Dragon's Well 茶: February 2014
http://thedragonswell.blogspot.com/2014_02_01_archive.html
Tuesday, February 25, 2014. A while back, I picked up Thich Nhat Hanh's "Chanting From the Heart", a guide to ceremonies and daily practices from Plum Village. Of course, my favourite part was this short gatha:. This cup of tea in my two hands,. My mind and body dwell. In the very here and now. Labels: Chanting From the Heart. Saturday, February 15, 2014. Thursday, February 6, 2014. Fushoushan (Lishan) High-Mountain Oolong • 福壽山 (驪山) 高山烏龍. Why not try something different? With a pen and paper, he drew a ...

The Dragon's Well 茶: August 2014
http://thedragonswell.blogspot.com/2014_08_01_archive.html
Friday, August 29, 2014. Aged Old Bush, Wu Yi "Shui Xian"老歲水仙茶. After being amazed so far by every tea I've tasted from cliffs of Wuyi Mounatin, and Da Hong Pao being the very tea that first got me interested in Chinese tea, I decided to order a small amount of aged "Shui Xian", harvested from 100-year-old trees to further my figurative exploration of the mountain. Alas, a tea by another name would still taste as sweet (or bitter), so let's get brewing. Maybe it should be! Labels: Aged Old Bush. I always...

Tuesday, May 27, 2014. Cheong Seok Gol 2014, making "Gu Jeung Gu Po". Last weekend, we made our second annual trip to the Cheong Seok Gol organic tea farm to harvest and roast our own tea. This isn't even tea! This time, a monk name Ho San Sunim, known for the high-quality tea he produces at his temple joined us to help and give advice. I had a lot of fun talking to him even though I couldn't catch much of what he was saying. We somehow managed to communicate quiet well! Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Insta...

Tea Goober: April 2012
http://teadork.blogspot.com/2012_04_01_archive.html
April 30, 2012. 2011 Ssangke Black Tea Sejak. Here's something tasty for us to try today, Ssangke's, Black Tea Sejak. In my opinion, Korean black tea's have absolutely nothing common with western style black tea's. No astringency or bitterness to be found here. This is the 2nd time Ive purchased this tea from Sam at Good Green Tea. But then again.if there is one thing I am exceptionally good at it's justifying buying expensive tea's and tea ware's. I agree that this is a tea that everyone would enjoy....

August 30, 2010. 2010 Dong Cheon Hwagae Valley Ujeon. Saving the "best" for last and letting Petr's Shiboridashi have the honors we have Dong Cheons Ujeon. Courtesy of. The Ujeon is the most expensive of the three Korean teas currently offered by Tea Trekker. At $60.00 for a canister containing ten 3.3 gm. packets. It's evidently "worthy" of special packaging. Is this tea worth such a lofty price? Just look at those leaves! Gorgeous, aren't they? I,m glad I had the opportunity to try these Korean green t...

The Dragon's Well 茶: March 2014
http://thedragonswell.blogspot.com/2014_03_01_archive.html
Monday, March 31, 2014. The scent of Dian Hong. At Kkik Da Geo, last week, I asked about their red tea selection and realized that they actually have a huge variety in stock but just don't push them as much as they do their aged sheng puer and classic oolongs. Inspecting their Dian Hong, I could see no discernible difference in quality to what I had, and the aroma was equally impressive. It was even packaged in the same gold foil, which made me think it could have been from the same source. I honestly ca...
