Day 41 Tasmania 8/3/2015. March 24, 2015. After a dreadful nights sleep we headed for cradle mountain. Despite poor weather we decided to trek up to cradle lake an up a bit further to Marrions lookout. This was the first stretch of the famous 6 day overland trek. Despite being very wet and the first half being steeper than expected we persevered in the rain. Fishermans hut at cradle lake. The hike down was cold and the views spectacular. Share or print this:. Day 38 Tasmania 5/3/2015. March 24, 2015. Our day started late as we headed towards Launceston. The old first capital of Tasmania. Our first impressions were very positive. Lots of lovely old architecture. And the familiar Oak trees of home dotted about town. A very arty town. We chose to have a quick lunch and headed South to Evandale. Day 42-44 Tasmania 9/3/2015 – 11/3/2015. March 24, 2015. After a very restful night we headed along the short two hour Leven gorge walk. We met this little possum on the bbq in the night. Our neighbours the first night were two sets of grey nomads who were chatty at first and then just plain rude and left after our first night. We had a large bus next to us but no sign of the owner. Day 34 Tasmania 1/3/2015. March 1, 2015. A very lazy day drying out our bedding. It rained most of the night and our poptop let in a bit of rain. Luckily today was a sunny day. We have had a relaxing day enjoying the ‘bay of fires’. Incidentally the bay is named so because the British captain Furneaux spotted lots of Aboriginal fires on the shore as he cruised Tasmania (as in sailing and not the other). Share or print this:. During my time in Hawaii, I would like to say that I discovered the joy in life, and somewhat have a laid back attitude these day. I did fly barefoot , shorts and Aloha shirt, and did not own a pair of shoes for 6 years. It is where I learned that "Life is a mystery to be lived: NOT a problem to be solved.". I have a home in Salt Lake City with my beautiful wife and 3 children, (aged 24, 16 and 14). I work for two helicopter companies, one is based in Redding, CA and the other in Long Beach, CA.
