One of the questions I've been asked is How long will the signs be up? This campaign is for a specific and limited duration. Even though most ordinances allows yard signs to be up for a longer duration, the signs will be taken down after one week. The campaign has a limited duration for two reasons:. Sign clutter detracts from the neighborhood. The campaign is more effective with more people participating for a shorter period of time than with a few people over a longer period.

The Brookside Neighborhood in Greenwood Village, Colorado, conducted the first 20 Is Plenty! Prior to the start of the campaign, the average speed in the neighborhood was 26 MPH with 58% going over the speed limit. During the campaign, the average speed was reduced to 20 MPH and only 6% went over the speed limit. Two months after the campaign, the speeds were still down. In November, the average speed was 23 MPH with 19% going over the limit. What made this program a success?

Listed below are the recommended steps that should be followed in order to conduct a successful campaign. 2) If you have a neighborhood association, I recommend that the association be the official sponsor of the campaign but this is not a requirement. I believe that a campaign has a better chance of success if more people are involved in the planning process.
