Grab a spoon and dig in! April 16, 2012. Panko-Encrusted Masala Chicken and Chickpea-Cilantro Waffles with Chai Maple Syrup. OK, that's a mouthful to say, isn't it? And I'll have you know, it's a mighty tasty mouthful to enjoy, for breakfast or dinner! But having grown up in the South (southern Missouri, to be exact), which is influenced by African-American cooking traditions, I knew of the chicken and waffles phenomenon, but I had never known its history. Is it a Southern thing? Is it soul food? And/or ...

Grab a spoon and dig in! July 19, 2012. If you've never tried tres leches cake, then you're missing one of the most caketastic. My favorite place around town to enjoy this delectable south-of-the-border treat is at Depot Nuevo in oddly enough, Wilmette, Ill. After years of living on Chicago's West Side and frequenting plenty of taquerias and Mexican food joints, I'm surprised I found the sweetest of all sponges here on the North Shore. Have it down pat. There is some mystery surrounding its origins.

Grab a spoon and dig in! May 9, 2010. Chocolate Chip Cookies Three Ways. I've been on a quest for the perfect chocolate chip cookie recipe. City Project No. 2. Another reason not to drink and drive…. June 15, 2011. Me (and all of my neighbors) jumped out of bed at 5am Sunday to this car crashing into our building:. The driver hit the building with enough force to break through this brick pillar:. So, we had an early morning gathering outside with the firefighters and police. I now know all of my neighbors’ names, and strangely, have seen them all in their pajamas. Filed in the city. Leave a Reply Cancel reply. Enter your comment here.

It never seems to get old. Here are a few of my favs:.
