Armchair Living: April 2013
http://sohnaa.blogspot.com/2013_04_01_archive.html
Up Next, Movie Marathon. Was just checking the local cinema listings and wondering when I could go see the latest Die Hard film when I randomly selected the "events and promotions" tab. Lo and behold, there's a rescreening of The Avengers followed by a midnight viewing of Iron Man 3. So I got tickets. Yay! Did a count. I have 186 movie dvds of which 62 are blu-ray. Storage space is rapidly running out so,as daggy as it looks, I'm seriously looking at this. To hold my babies - heck, I may need two. View t...

Armchair Living: August 2013
http://sohnaa.blogspot.com/2013_08_01_archive.html
Long Time No See. It's been a very long while - the longest while since I started blogging way back when. I'll admit to considering shutting it down. It's not as if anyone really reads this, not as if its updated regularly and I certainly have a ridiculously mundane, boring life that does not warrant blogging about. Labels: Daily Jibber Jabber. Armchair Living: The Single Person Etiquette
http://sohnaa.blogspot.com/2014/02/the-single-person-etiquette.html
The Single Person Etiquette. It seems I've reached that age where you get invited to weddings and kids' birthday parties. What does a single 30-something year old do at the birthday party of a friends 1, 2 or 3 year old kid? Don't get me wrong, I am happy to be remembered and invited to something but what am I to do at this party surrounded by couples and families with children? So I mine my vast. I'd love to talk about movies, but most parents of young kids watch The Smurfs or Alvin and the Chipmunks...

Armchair Living: Conviction
http://sohnaa.blogspot.com/2013/12/conviction.html
How are there people with such strength of conviction that pushes them past fear, intimidation and alienation? How does is feel to believe in something so completely, that you are willing to sacrifice so much to fight for that belief? I can't imagine. Most of us have weak points and would capitulate when those weak points are pushed but then you have people like Gao Yaojie. Read her both inspirational and terrifying story in this surprisingly insightful article. The ethics of the global supply chain.

Armchair Living: February 2013
http://sohnaa.blogspot.com/2013_02_01_archive.html
Return of the Lazy Pig. 1 Nothing better to do on a weekend. Tragic. 2 Really freaking out about the Part Two slides and viva exams next year - which will be followed by a lifetime of actual responsibilities. Aaaaarrrghhhhh! Then there's the expectations people have just because I'm a so-called senior reg in the second half of training. Often than not, I have to fight the urge to stand on my chair and shout "Don't ask me, I don't know anything! This year, I'll be thirty. The word, that number does se...

BettyAndFrank: Gerhard Richter
http://bettyandfranks.blogspot.com/2011/11/gerhard-richter.html
Thursday, November 3, 2011. It's been another week without any posts from b&f. Must mean we've been busy busy! Wanted to share with you the works of another artist crush of Franks. Recently rediscovered after seeing news of his retrospective showing in London at the Tate Modern. We love the juxtaposition of a loose, organic method of painting against seemingly venacular photographs. That are almost obliterated by the paint. Check out his work over here - www.gerhard-richter.com. And make up your own mind.
