These students' duties include: regular meetings to discuss band events, fundraising, etc. reorganizing/decorating the band room; input on music selections; fostering spirit in the group; working with the Band Boosters for the promotion of the program. Sweet Sound of Jazz 2015. All students are expected to practice a minimum number of minutes at home. While schedules can become busy the best way to insure that students practice is to make sure that practice time is scheduled. With as little as fifteen minutes a day a student can show marked improvement in tone and technique. Fifteen minutes a day, five to seven days a week is much better than two hours, one day a week. Sweet Sound of Jazz 2015. Wind Ensemble * Prerequisites: Audition and Director Approval. String Orchestra is open to students with prior violin, viola, cello or string bass experience. Ralph Erwin Student Musician Performance Scholarship. This scholarship was established in April 2013 to honor our longtime volunteer and friend Ralph Erwin. He has devoted countless hours to the music program in many, many ways. Grant Band Boosters dedicates funds each year that instrumental students may use to help them participate in competitions or honors ensembles, including but not limited to All State and All Northwest groups and accompanists for PIL/OSAA solo competitions.
