Sailing "Full and Bye". We've owned a West Wight Potter 15 for many years, and Marcia has made me swear that we would never sell this charming little boat. The boat is a 1981 model, hull number 1254. Her name is "Poteet". An extremely dedicated and active owner's association exists in the United States with groups on the east coast, in California, and the Pacific Northwest. Recollections and stories of growing up in the Methow Valley of Washington State in the 1950's and 1960's when rural life was a viable economic option in America. I never realized at the time just how precious or fleeting was the opportunity to be a 12-year-old boy with his own .22 rifle and the freedom to roam the ridges and mountains of a wilderness region. Observations from the Big Road. I lived in the truck. Most meals and showers were taken at truck stops, although I had a small office refrigerator and microwave oven stacked in front of the bunk, between the seats. I slept in the truck every night. It is a life style most people cannot imagine. It's living like a gypsy refugee. Most long-haul drivers work seven days a week, 12 to 14 hours a day on average- including 10 or more hours a day driving.

Day Two - Brixham. On our second day the sun decided it was going to come out in full force so after a hearty hotel breakfast we decided to venture out of Torquay and go to the town across the bay - Brixham.
