http://khanundrum.blogspot.com/2008/05/intermission.html
A Canadian journalist and filmmaker moves to Egypt, and lives in denial. Monday, May 19, 2008. I am interrupting this Kenya love-in to inform you all that today is my birthday. I have turned 17 for the second time. My sweet mama wrote in with a prayer. She wants god to make me a wise man.I am resisting the urge to write back . Maybe god has already answered her prayers. That's it. Back to Kenya. Your birthday is already over there, due to that time zone thing. May 20, 2008 at 3:40 AM. Zoom - Errol Morris.

A Canadian journalist and filmmaker moves to Egypt, and lives in denial. Tuesday, May 20, 2008. Breathing Break: Kenya pt. 4. On day 2, we drove over to Buffalo Springs National Park. We got stuck in the mud, were charged by an elephant, and ate lunch on a hill overlooking herds of these guys. Enjoy:. Dude - awesome posts re: Kenya. A friend of mine saw your Montreal demonstration photo and wrote this poem:. Http:/ storyward.blogspot.com/2008/05/chain-link-fence.html. I thought you might be interested.

Willie, our driver, woke us up to see Kenya's tallest peak. Soon we will cross the equatah.". We had been driving for a couple of hours, heading to the Shaba National. About 300km north of Nairobi, where we were to spend 2 days at the Sarova Shaba Game Lodge. And not enough Animal Planet. Needless to say, the croc stayed put. Crikey! I've neve...

Khan-un-Drum: December 2008
http://khanundrum.blogspot.com/2008_12_01_archive.html
A Canadian journalist and filmmaker moves to Egypt, and lives in denial. Friday, December 12, 2008. Beirut Bound - part 3. The last time I briefly drove through the Bekaa valley, it was a piece of hell - cars and trucks abandoned by the roadside, plumes of smoke, stench of explosives, Israeli jets flying overhead, and tired, hungry, terrified families fleeing to Syria on foot. This was in the summer of 2006, during the Israel-Hezbollah war. In which Lebanon took the heaviest beating. Zoom - Errol Morris.

http://khanundrum.blogspot.com/2008/11/beirut-bound-part-2.html
A Canadian journalist and filmmaker moves to Egypt, and lives in denial. Saturday, November 15, 2008. Beirut Bound - part 2. Francois, our driver, drove us up the coast on day 2, stopping for a bit to see the stunning Jeita Grotto. On the way. Hugh Hefner has nothing on this baby. Sorry, no pictures, though. They frown on that sort of thing. So, onward to the 7000-year old port of Byblos. Probably my favourite part of the trip, and my first visit to a crusader castle. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

St. Blaize: December 2008
http://stblaize.blogspot.com/2008_12_01_archive.html
Saturday, December 13, 2008. Sorry, But It's Time for More Creepy Graphics. While I freaked out at least one reader with my post. On the Frankensteinian book jacket, I am compelled to write again about graphic design. Working as I do at a feed store, I am up close and personal with many products, and get to witness vicariously the joys and sorrows that must be the daily fare of designers and advertisers. For example, one rubber toy. YELLS that it is "THE WORLD'S BEST DOG TOY! However, I don't own a dog&#...

St. Blaize: Titles of Books That Should Never Be Written
http://stblaize.blogspot.com/2011/08/titles-of-books-that-should-never-be.html
Saturday, August 20, 2011. Titles of Books That Should Never Be Written. I am working on a list of titles of books that, if written, would be stinkers. So far I have:. The Abandoned Quonset Hut. Quonset 2, north of Dickinson Bayou at Hwy 146, Texas 0404091454,. By accent on eclectic. I imagine this as a thriller, perhaps in the vein of The Thing. Or it could be a cosy catastrophe. This could be a morality tale à la James Thurber's Fables for Our Times. Thats too funny :-D. August 20, 2011 2:55 AM. Maybe ...

St. Blaize: July 2009
http://stblaize.blogspot.com/2009_07_01_archive.html
Saturday, July 04, 2009. What to Do in Istanbul. 1 Get frustrated by being sent back and forth along the ferry wharf. 2 Find the right ticket booth/dock. 3 Take the Boğazçi Özel Gezi. Ferry towards Anadolu Kavağı. 4 Sit next to a nice Turkish couple, on the shady side of the lower deck. It'll mean you see the European side only, but you can't have everything. 5 Get off at Sarıyer. 6 Figure out where the staircases go up the hill and follow them until they peter out in people's private yards. 16a Have a f...

St. Blaize: November 2008
http://stblaize.blogspot.com/2008_11_01_archive.html
Monday, November 24, 2008. I've been reading some books by Arnaldur Indriðason. Silence of the Grave. All three have similar covers, with a man walking or running away from the viewer, into a landscape of some kind. They're moody, and the guy is wearing a detective-esque trenchcoat, flapping around his thighs. The jacket designer, intriguingly-named David Baldeosingh Rotstein. Has done (I think) a decent job. Looking at the credits for the jacket design of Voices. In the movie Toy Story. I give Super-Sec...
