Higgins Hijinks: February 2014

http://higginsfamilyhijinks.blogspot.com/2014_02_01_archive.html

Friday, February 7, 2014. Cross Country Skiing at Mt. Spokane State Park. We had already had a hotel reservation, but we were able to reschedule it for a weekend in January. It actually worked out better because we just work up early and drove up early Saturday morning and then we were able to stay the night after our rigorous day of skiing. In spokane it was really really foggy. You could barely see 20 feet in front of you. As we drove up the mountain side we escaped the fog into the sunshine! Once we f...

Tuesday, July 1, 2014. Portland, OR with the Champagne's! I am going to take a break from posting about events that happened months ago and post about our most recent adventure! My best friend Liz travels to Portland for work a lot, and I have been lucky enough to go visit her a few times! Chase and I were already planning to head to Portland for the Sporting KC vs Portland Timbers game, so we planned a fun weekend with the Champagnes! Finally a photo of Chase and I at a soccer game! There is a lumber ja...

Higgins Hijinks: September 2013

http://higginsfamilyhijinks.blogspot.com/2013_09_01_archive.html

Monday, September 23, 2013. The condo that Chase and I are renting in Richland is quite large. Much larger than we need, but we are enjoying the space and the garage! Needless to say housing costs are quite a bit cheaper than in Minneapolis. We also wanted a fun project to do on the weekend a few weeks ago. We did have fun doing it, however I think it will be awhile before we do anymore crafty endeavors! We made an ottoman that I found on this blog:. It was a fun weekend project though! We went to Hawaii...

Monday, June 23, 2014. Ski Trip - February 2014. In early February, a large group of us headed towards Leavenworth and Stevens Pass for a ski weekend in the woods! We rented a cabin and did some skiing, hanging out, cooking, olympics watching, etc. It was a great time! Here are a few pictures from the trip! Things to note: I didn't get a picture of the cabin, bummer. I also didn't get a group picture! Our group included Megan, Sean, Kelsey, Kit, Sonja, Huy, Liezel, Chase and myself. What a fun time!

Friday, December 27, 2013. Christmas Tree Lighting - Leavenworth, WA. PNNL (my employer) often sets up bus trips to attractions in the area. Most of the fun stuff is about a 3 hour drive, so sometimes it is really great to go see mountains without having to drive or stay overnight! Chase and I were able to take advantage of a bus trip to Leavenworth, WA for their Christmas tree lighting. Leavenworth, WA. It was a fun day! Ok, back to Leavenworth and pictures! There wasn't too much snow in Leavenworth, bu...

Friday, November 29, 2013. Wow, I am the worst blogger ever! It's been over a month since I've posted, and the worst part is that we haven't even been that busy! At the end of September, Chase's parents came to visit us! It was really great to have them here. Our first visitors! The arrived on Thursday morning and stayed until Monday morning. I even took Friday off so we could go somewhere fun. We took them to Hood River, OR. It is such a cute little town, we thought they would enjoy it! Because of that ...

Thursday, January 2, 2014. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! Chase and I didn't travel home for Christmas this year. We were very sad about not getting to take part in all of the fun Christmas get togethers that our families had. However, we did have a very nice and relaxing Christmas here in Richland. Our Christmas celebrations started off with a lovely party thrown by a coworker on Saturday night. We had some great homebrew and good food! I made these SkinnyTaste Red Velvet Rudolph Cupcakes. Tuesday, August 27, 2013. Back in June I was in Indiana doing some wedding activities: an awesome shower thrown by my mom and sister AND an awesome bachelorette party thrown by my good friend Karen! On our last day there, we had planned to go to the Indianapolis Zoo with my parents, my sister, her husband and their two kids. It was going to be Logan's first trip to the zoo! Anyway, we still had tickets and decided to use them the Monday after the wedding! My mom was great at manning the stroller! Logan t...

Wednesday, May 13, 2015. Weddings, Goodbyes, and New Adventures. Last summer consisted of traveling to weddings, weddings and more weddings! Here is the run down:. May 2014: Melissa and Michael North got married in Indianapolis, IN! Melissa is a good friend of mine from college. It was probably one of the most heartfelt and touching ceremonies I have ever been too. I think we were all in tears! We hope to visit soon! A highlight was definitely being her MO. Congrats!
