https://andrerousseau.wordpress.com/2013/12/08/ajr-48-falcon-ready
December 8, 2013. Did not have enough time this weekend to fly the plane but this evening I managed to finish the build up and min wax work. 8211; A little test to see how the view is from on board. Not to bad. 8211; The 2 pieces near the top are to cover the open sections on the underside of the wing. 8211; Nose section with the GoPro. 8211; Two batteries to help the balance. 8211; Cargo door is a little small to handle an egg so were going to make a “care” package with a chute. 8211; GoPro access.

Bomber Front Nose Work. November 24, 2013. Took up the challenge tonight to craft the bomber’s GoPro and nose section. 8211; Chopped the battery and GoPro sections down a few inches. 8211; Now the top sits just above the batteries. 8211; Testing the wiring for the batteries. 8211; Finished off the bomb pod work. 8211; Consturcted the cap for the GoPro. 8211; There we go. Protected with a great view. 8211; The receiver will sit behind the go pro. 8211; Nose covered in plastic. November 23, 2013. 8211; Bro...

November 27, 2013. Sat down to cut the tail section out this evening. BTW listening the the FliteTest Podcast. Is decent while building. Installed a rear fire wall piece, 2 servos ( Turnigy TG9e 9g / 1.5kg / 0.10sec Eco Micro Servo. And 2 45cm extensions. Had to remove the receiver from the Purple plane which is annoying. Looking forward to Hobby King sorting out their issues and sending my 9X! Once this is all done and I have my order in my hand I’ll publish a story. Click to email (Opens in new window).

AJR-48 Short & Slim Flies | André Rousseau
https://andrerousseau.wordpress.com/2013/11/30/ajr-48-short-slim-flies
AJR-48 Short and Slim Flies. AJR-48 Short and Slim Flies. November 30, 2013. In the morning I tested the weight reduced modifications. It flew but was still tail heavy! So after that flight I cut 2″ off the tail and re-did the nose firewall. 8211; The first job was to remove the tail from the body. 8211; Based on the FT Spitfire I opt’d to remove 2″. 8211; Then I inserted 2 pieces of foam I could keep the structure solid and had something to glue to. 8211; Also checking for water/snow issues. You are com...

The Falcon Flies | André Rousseau
https://andrerousseau.wordpress.com/2013/12/15/the-falcon-flies
December 15, 2013. Today the winter weather was mild enough that I could not pass up the chance to launch the AJR-48(F). She’s a rocket. On take off I used flaps which made her rather zippy. An unexpected barrel roll even took place. No big deal and once I retracted the flaps the plane handled well. The test flight was going good and I managed to perform some slow speed and quicker paced runs. However on some tight banking the plane rolled over and I crashed. Here is the video. AJR-48 Slim Chance | André Rousseau
https://andrerousseau.wordpress.com/2013/11/30/ajr-48-slim-chance
November 30, 2013. Tonight I had my first winter flight experience. Testing the AJR-48 in single prop config. Glad the snow was soft because the tail heavy issue is still present. So I went radical on the plane. 8211; Time to perform an operation and lose some weight in the tail section. 8211; I removed as much as I could while trying to keep some of the strength. 8211; Pretty big chuck of foam gone. 8211; Removed the metal rudder servo and put in a 15g eco one. 8211; A lot tighter but manageable. AJR-48...

Transmitter Lipo Repair | André Rousseau
https://andrerousseau.wordpress.com/2013/12/06/transmitter-lipo-repair
December 6, 2013. A friend of mine asked me to swap the connector on his Turnigy 2650mAh 3S 1C LLF Tx Pack (Futaba/JR). So it would work properly with his 9X. The operation is easy enough. I had him order a JST-XH Parallel Balance Lead 2S 250mm (2xJST-XH). And then I simply swap the leads out. Battery was not puffed so I had not sparked it or anything. I could get voltage reading off all the lead posts. The only thing left was to see if we could save this brand new battery. 8211; Time to take it all apart.
