Thursday, April 20, 2017. Knitted hats and neckwarmer. On really cold winter days, I find it easier to wear a neck warmer instead of a scarf. With layers, a winter coat and cross over bag, a neck warmer is so much more comfortable and reduces the bulk. I found this pattern on Ravelry. This set is made with worsted weight yarn and is a great beginner knitting project since only knit stitches are used. However, here is a variation where purl stitches are used too. Saturday, February 25, 2012. Getting Creative with an old T-Shirt. As one matures as an artist over time, one learns to “trust the process”. There are times when I don’t. And that’s usually when I have a lesson to learn. This time I decided to “trust the process”. This is what happened. From this.to this. My husband’s under shirt was really worn. The rib at the neckline was torn and there was a hole under one ar. Since it was a really long T-Shirt, I cut away the hem and replaced the worn rib at the neck.

Friday, June 8, 2012. Quick and easy hat or bonnet display. Tutorial. I needed a display stand to photograph the bonnets that I smocked. So I decided to use some items that I had lying around the house to make one. The stand was very easy to make and if you don't have the supplies listed below, you can improvise with a substitute. You will need :. A washed and dried empty food can. A ball of string, rope or twine. By the way you can also use a plastic plant pot instead of an empty can, if you prefer.

Thursday, March 1, 2012. Smocked Shwe Swhe Romper. I've been getting requests for more smocks for babies. So I decided to make this easy to wear romper. Ready to be blocked. To avoid potential scratching, I prefer too use sew on snaps instead of the ones attached with a tool. For this one, I used sew on snap tape. Upper edge, armhole and shoulder ties with bias tape. Thursday, June 9, 2011. My Shwe Shwe bucket hats. I downloaded a simplicity pattern last year sometime.There were no instuctions but it seemed straightforward.I used 1/4 inch seam allowance. And made a toddler hat as well. Even though I made the small, for some reason the toddler size fit my head better.

Having just recently bought the belt I need to keep them up, I noticed that these pants are sorely lacking in belt loops (aside from that one in the centre back, there are only two more in the front). So, I decided to do a little transplant. By taking the loops from these pants (which had already been partly recycled into a girl's dress. And my patchwork ball. So simple, yet it makes such a difference!
