West Hampstead: February 2008
http://westhampstead.blogspot.com/2008_02_01_archive.html
Saturday, 23 February 2008. I was a little astonished when I saw the door buzzer that is being installed on one of the two blocks that make up Inglewood Mansions on West End Lane today. There are over 30 bells. I thought I was seeing funny, but a little research shows that there are 65 studios no less. These are being marketed. For immediate occupation (presumably once the buzzers are working, but maybe not). Czechoslovak National House, 74 West End Lane. Have you been to the Czech place? I needn't have ...

West Hampstead: The Green Room
http://westhampstead.blogspot.com/2008/03/green-room.html
Monday, 31 March 2008. And the girl downstairs have all raved about the Green Room on Broadhurst Gardens. For all three to agree, I felt that I should try it out. On both occasions I have visited, there has been a warm welcome, both from the lady owner who is front of house and the rest of her staff. The decor is simple but elegant in a laid back way, really befitting of a neighbourhood joint. The food is good and the bill reasonable. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). View my complete profile.

West Hampstead: Camden Parking robbery
http://westhampstead.blogspot.com/2008/03/camden-parking-robbery.html
Monday, 31 March 2008. As of April 1st, the cost of daily permits for tradesmen parking in Camden. Rises from 9 pounds a day, to a staggering 33! This seems to have been introduced rather on the quiet. I don't remember getting any notice and to date there doesn't appear to be much in the press about it. But as this could cost you in excess of 700 pounds a month (assuming a 5 day week), I imagine there will be many people who are upset/ caught out by it. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). West Hampstead: December 2007
http://westhampstead.blogspot.com/2007_12_01_archive.html
Sunday, 30 December 2007. Designer goodies for Christmas? I watched with interest as The Vault, "Design Store". Took shape a few months ago. It looked a little out of place to me. A wee bit too chichi for the area - and it seems that I wasn't the only one looking at this local issues website. Apparently set up by own of the Kiwi founders of the very successful, GBK. But will this work in West Hampstead. I'm not sure. Time will tell no doubt. Ooh la la - another chain restaurant. I see that ooh laa. This ...

West Hampstead: View of London from West Hampstead
http://westhampstead.blogspot.com/2008/04/view-of-london-from-west-hampstead.html
Saturday, 5 April 2008. View of London from West Hampstead. Thanks to roofworks, I have been able to see what the view is like from the top of our house. I have to say that I was slightly disappointed! There isn't that much that I can pick out as recognisable. The BT tower is sadly out of shot to the left. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). West Hampstead: West Hampstead in the snow
http://westhampstead.blogspot.com/2008/04/west-hampstead-in-snow.html
Sunday, 6 April 2008. West Hampstead in the snow. For once, the bbc got it right. It isn't that often that you get to see the snow lying in these parts and it did come as a bit of a surprise following on from Friday's 17c. Though - not bbq weather yet then. West Hampstead: January 2008
http://westhampstead.blogspot.com/2008_01_01_archive.html
Thursday, 31 January 2008. I was going to blog about the 2 curry houses that face off on West End Lane- Bengal Spice. Which always seems to be packed and the subterranean Spice Plaza. Which generally seems empty. A fact that never ceases to amaze me as it seems conversely proportional to the quality of the food. (I have been to Bengal Spice twice in the 7 years I have lived in the area and been impressed by the consistency of the food on both occasions.). Sunday, 20 January 2008. But deli-wars seems to h...

West Hampstead: April 2008
http://westhampstead.blogspot.com/2008_04_01_archive.html
Monday, 14 April 2008. So long, West Hampstead! After 7 years and 22 posts, I am now leaving West Hampstead. Sadly, a week after my New Year's resolution to start my West Hampstead blog, I made a sudden decision to look for a new house. Did I look in West Hampstead? Well, no. My budget and my ideal home cannot both reside in NW6. So am I sad to leave? A big thanks to everyone who has read my site. Special thanks to my fellow bloggers - I look forward to revisiting NW6 through your posts. Thanks to roofwo...

West Hampstead: Wet Fish Cafe breakfast
http://westhampstead.blogspot.com/2008/04/wet-fish-cafe-breakfast.html
Sunday, 6 April 2008. Wet Fish Cafe breakfast. I don't often go to the Wet Fish Cafe. Though I always love it when I do. Usually at the weekend it looks too much of a nightmare to get a table. As we were early(ish) for breakfast this morning, we thought we would give it a try. Without a doubt my favourite west hampstead haunt. Food that actually has flavours, in an old and appreciative setting. 7 April 2008 at 03:42. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). View my complete profile. So long, West Hampstead!
