Dr Strangeland or: How I Learned To Stop Worrying And Love Taiwan. Originally uploaded by Fat Mike. Querky cultural differences between Taiwan and Canada. I have actually been sitting at my computer to find some cultural differences that would come off as quirky and not racist on my part. I don't want to write a post that sounds like a bunch of intolerant ramblings of an uneducated buffoon. But I can't promise it won't, so here goes. In my classes with my adult students they will do all of this, but they...

Dr Strangeland or: How I Learned To Stop Worrying And Love Taiwan. I'm just dropping you all a note to let you know that Adrian and I are Ok after the quake that hit the island yesterday. Adrian and I were in the mountains when it hit. We were walking through a parking lot when all of a sudden I felt really dizzy. I couldn't figure out what was happening. Walking felt like being in one of those fun houses at the Stampede where the floor moves/. So far 5 people are dead and 170 are injured. The news repor...

Dr Strangeland or: How I Learned To Stop Worrying And Love Taiwan. Well it's one month until I leave for Taiwan. It's starting to hit me now. I have yet to get my shots (I'm going this Tuesda) and then it's just a matter of waiting. As the date gets closer I realize that soon I will be living on my own in a foreign country where I won't speak the language. After about 10 seconds it dawned on me, and I felt like an absolute idiot. Posted by parabolicant at 23:08. Words to live by. View my complete profile.
