Mona is in the first grade of elementary school from this year. She is still making her new friends and we are interested in finding piano lessons for her but the tough point is when can we take her? Wednesday, October 7, 2009. Kashima fireworks in September. Usually every year in early August, fireworks are held in Kajima, one of the biggest local fireworks festivals around here. But this year in August the Tenryu river levels were very high due to rain fall, and the scheduled day was overcast, so they were delayed to early September. We were invited by Shauna a JET. Ken and I picked a choice seat for enjoyment. The fireworks were, big loud and great- we had a fantastic view- without the crowd!

Thursday, March 31, 2011. Onwards with last year- Vancouver trip 2. Doogie stood guard over the room that Ken and I would be staying in. And Benita and Ken continued their bond from the first moment. Mona was working her charm and trying to steel the camera. The neighbours were kind enough to lend us their Thomas toys which kept Ken occupied a lot of the time. The first night Steve and Keiko came over and we enjoyed a nice meal and some wine together. A good start! Links to this post. Links to this post.

Saturday, February 27, 2010. An area I hadn`t found the last time we went off to Kasuisai, was this statue in the murky pond off to the side from the temple. I had to cross to the island to see more. My mom was trying to photograph the sun I think. The temple was symmetrically lined with trees. And Ken was just having fun being himself. It was a good time. Links to this post. Monday, January 31, 2011. Monas 1st birthday video. Ya I love the birthday videos. They are a great chance to look back on the year's events and create a simple documented photo album. I made this one a bit late, so couldn't check Ken's video for redundancy but should be enjoyable all the same. Wednesday, September 21, 2011. Foreigner fun for Easter. All the young'uns like Mona in the foreground, and Oto and Ume in the back seemed to be on their own missions. Ken was hamming it up as usual with Matt and his son Oto. Marty and his daughter came out too and enjoyed the Egg coloring activity. Marty enjoyed a beer too.
