Hannah McGinnis: November 2009
http://www.hannahmcginnis.blogspot.com/2009_11_01_archive.html
Thursday, November 26, 2009. You turned my wailing into dancing.that my heart may sing to you and not be silent. O Lord my God, I will give you thanks forever." -Psalm 30:11-12. What a bizarre time and place to get such a diagnosis, and what a bizarre year that followed! Needless to say, this has been a November of reminiscing. This week in school, we asked our freshmen to think about what they are thankful for. Easy, right? I am thankful for: Doctors who knew what they were doing and who used their best...
Hannah McGinnis: A Thrill of Hope in a Season of Humiliation
http://www.hannahmcginnis.blogspot.com/2011/12/thrill-of-hope-in-season-of-humiliation.html
Thursday, December 22, 2011. A Thrill of Hope in a Season of Humiliation. I realize it's been a ridiculous amount of time since I last posted. I could blame it on the fact that I'm in the process of writing a book while also working three part-time jobs, or I could just call it what it is: avoidance. Confession over. Now onto bigger and better things. Okay, so what does that mean? How has my life been in a season of humiliation lately? A thrill of hope, the weary world rejoices.". Singing that made my ey...

Thursday, May 21, 2009. Sing to the LORD a new song, for He has done marvelous things; His right hand and His holy arm have worked salvation for Him" - Psalm 98:1. PRAISE THE LORD I AM DONE WITH CHEMO! I have decided to make this long-overdue post a photo-journey through my favorite month of May, starting with where I left off, after chemo number 11 (which was April 30th). There was a time when that was looking like it might not happen back when we got the diagnosis, so PTL, seriously! The picture above ...
Hannah McGinnis: "I will praise You, O Lord, with all my heart, I will tell of all Your wonders." ~Psalm 9:1
http://www.hannahmcginnis.blogspot.com/2010/04/i-will-praise-you-o-lord-with-all-my.html
Sunday, April 11, 2010. I will praise You, O Lord, with all my heart, I will tell of all Your wonders." Psalm 9:1. I can't believe we are already 1/3 through April of 2010—that's SO crazy! The month of March has come and gone, and I feel like it FLEW by! I spent the rest of that week on Oahu, attempting to tackle a to-do list of like 50 items, exploring the island that I live on, and enjoying just being here and not having anything to do! Below is a partial picture of my surfboard. Wow—my first yea...

Pond Life: December 2014
http://nateandrosapond.blogspot.com/2014_12_01_archive.html
Wednesday, December 31, 2014. Finishing off 2014 with random pictures. I am ending 2014 with a post of random pictures from various days over the past two weeks. We have been busy with Christmas, playing, and finishing some small projects. We have also had more than our share of fighting and whining, but here are some pictures of the fun we've had. Inside the tree we found a fun surprise. An old birds nest! It's currently sitting in our garage because the kids did not want us to get rid of it. And the wo...

Maggie in Nigeria: May 2010
http://maggieinnigeria.blogspot.com/2010_05_01_archive.html
Thoughts and perspectives from a twentysomething expatriate. Monday, May 31, 2010. It looked a lot like the Body of Christ. It was a great time to enjoy conversation, pizza, wine, and the 3 lovely children in our presence. We swam despite the threatening rain clouds and I had a blast playing around with the kids in the pool. It felt a lot like goodbye, too. I am at peace. Labels: abuja ark church. Sunday, May 30, 2010. This feels like closure. Saturday, May 29, 2010. On sex, or rather, not having sex.
Pond Life: Malakai's birthday interview
http://nateandrosapond.blogspot.com/2015/07/malakais-birthday-interview.html
Friday, July 10, 2015. Malakai enjoys singing, dancing, and running around. He is very athletic and I'm surprised by his upper body strength. He is learning how to dress himself and does okay. We're also in the process of potty training him. It's a slow process and some days he does great and then the next doesn't go so well. I'm sure he'll get the hang of it eventually. What is your favorite color? What is your favorite song? Let It Go (Frozen movie). What is your favorite tv show? Who are your friends?
Pond Life: August 2015

Monday, August 31, 2015. I do miss the space we had in the van. The kids do all fit in the back seat of Nate's car, but they pick on each other constantly. Plus, it's a pain to buckle them in. However, they enjoy Nate's car because they can roll down their windows and feel the hard wind as we drive along. I guess it's the simple things that make kids happy. Cannon Beach - part 3 - Fun at the park. Once the stores in the area opened up we spent the morning browsing and shopping in Cannon beach. The kids e...

Friday, February 27, 2015. Waiting for Layla's school day to begin. After we drop Sanaa off at school we walk next door and wait until Layla's school begins. Layla and Malakai have nearly 30 minutes to hang out and play. They have a great time together playing tag, crawling around like different animals, pretending to be babies, and whatever else they can come up with. Eventually, some of Layla's classmates begin arriving and then all the kids start playing until class starts. Monday, February 23, 2015.
Pond Life: March 2015

Sunday, March 29, 2015. A live sculpture demonstration at church. I have not thought about how I am also a potter and how I mold those around me. As a mom (and friend, sister, daughter, wife, etc), the words and actions I use are my tools. I am a powerful potter right now as a stay at home mom because I have so much influence over my children and the ways in which I teach them to be followers of Jesus. Wow So much to think about. Friday, March 27, 2015. Day at the coast. Playing in the waves. Malakai...

Sunday, November 30, 2014. Halloween was busy yet fun for us this year. The day before Halloween (the same day as Layla's school hoe down) we took the kids to the Children's Museum to trick or treat and play. All the kids went dressed up and the staff at the museum was also dressed up. The kids got to run around the museum and play while the staff walked around and handed out candy. Currently, the Children's Museum has a Wizard of Oz area. It is great. I love it! The kids came away with a lot of candy!

March 16, 2018. So in case anyone was unclear on why I was studying random disembodied parts of -real- humans, it’s to get better at painting -imaginary- humans. Thursday, May 3, 2012. Time to Kickstart My Book! So, "How's that book coming along? You might wonder. Well, it's almost finished! Hallelujah because it's been an arduous process. I've told a lot of people about my book and how I'm going about publishing it, but here's a little more info. Basically, very few companies will publish first-time authors. Now, if you're like me, you think, "Hmmm, so how does someone ever get published? So, today is the day I launch my page. Stress! I didn't leave Hawaii and m...
