Northern Cottage: GARDENER’S HAND SCRUB!
http://www.northerncottage.net/2011/04/gardeners-hand-scrub.html
GARDENER’S HAND SCRUB! I've got a fun little 'recipe' here for gardeners. Works wonderfully to scrub off the dirt after pulling weeds. Or after mixing up a big ol' meatloaf! Start off with a BIG ol’ mixing bowl. Since it is HAND SCRUB I love using the Hand Renewal kind). And a couple drops of peppermint extract. Some folks who might know a bit more about chemistry than me. That would be like just about everyone. Mentioned that some might be sensitive to the extract. And some pretty little jars. What a gr...

Artsy VaVa: "JOY" Wood Blocks
http://artsyvava.blogspot.com/2011/12/joy-wood-blocks.html
Tuesday, December 6, 2011. You can create unique, inexpensive artwork using lumber! You may remember the wood block I posted at Halloween. You can revisit that here. A 2 inch by 8 inch by 8 foot piece of lumber costs around $5 and you can get many projects out of that one piece of wood. I like to have mine cut into 10 inch pieces. I have created several blocks for Christmas. For my second block, I did the same technique as above using white and red. This time I painted a more whimsical tree. December 9, ...

ozona: Memorial Day...Poppies
http://teachingthirdgraders.blogspot.com/2011/05/memorial-daypoppies.html
Monday, May 30, 2011. As a young girl in 4-H, my club participated in this 'holiday' by selling poppies. I remember going to some of the neighboring small towns in Ohio to sell them. Back then, it was an easy sale. At the grocery this weekend, there were two veterans selling poppies. No one paid much attention to them. After leaving, I wondered just how many people understood what they were doing. No, I didn't buy one, but that was only because I literally had no cash with me. We are the dead. Ive just p...

Dimples and Tangles: Emily's Room {Girl's Bedroom-The Reveal}
http://www.dimplesandtangles.com/2011/11/emilys-room-reveal.html
Thursday, November 10, 2011. Emily's Room {Girl's Bedroom-The Reveal}. Work on this room began in the spring, and it's finally finished. This was a really fun project, dictated mainly by Emily's personality and her favorite colors. She is NOT a "pink" girl. Her favorite colors are yellow and green, so that's where we started. Here's the before. It's pretty much been like this since she was a baby, so it was definitely time for a big girl change. Sorry for the poor quality of the photos. I made some poms.

Tuesday, June 28, 2011. Sometimes Those Walls Must Come Down! As I stepped through the front door of this house with the realtor for our initial walk through I immediately thought "Houston, we have a problem", you could see the kitchen sink from the front door! Now I don't know about you but as a homeschooling momma of three lets just say my kitchen sink is not the first thing I want people to see when they walk into our home! Former entrance patched up and flooring being installed. We decided to make th...
