http://www.helencolombia.blogspot.com/2006/10/work-is-over.html

Journey to the Land of Shakira. Friday, October 06, 2006. So the conference ended yesterday. Overall, it was a very interesting experience, and the work on this topic is not over yet. Upon return to Washington, we are going to start processing the working papers and writing an overview paper. The nerd in me is very excited! Tomorrow Im off to Cartagena, which is, fyi, a UNESCO World Heritage site, which means lots of interesting colonial architecture. Besides, it is located on the Caribbean coast!

Saturday, October 25, 2008. St Petersburg, Part 4. Thursday, October 16, 2008. St Petersburg, Part 3. St Petersburg, Part 2. In the evening, we took a walk around the city after dinner, going to perhaps my favorite church building in Russia: the Church of Christ the Savior. The domes are so unique that they look like they are made of mozaic, not of stone. A visit to one more famous landmark that evening: St Isaac Cathedral. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Saturday, September 4, 2010. Cambodia: More local attractions. Baekong Hill (with view of Angkor Wat in the trees). Cambodia: The field trip. Our next stop was a visit with a Fishery and Forestry Community as well as some local government officials- -and the meeting was in a pagoda where the monks were chanting prayers, people were having lunch, several kids were playing, and two dogs were fighting…again, all in a pagoda, that certainly appeared the center of social activity in this small community.

Saturday, April 24, 2010. Our next stop was Ellis Island, another very historical and significant place in the US history. Unfortunately, we had very little time there before having to be on our bus back to DC, but I managed to take a quick audio tour of the immigrants' route through the Ellis island facilities: first, the registry room, then health and mental inspection, and then off to various destinations in the US. After a quick Mexican dinner in Hell's Kitchen, we quickly walked to the Palace Theate...

Helen's Travels: Cambodia: Sightseeing

http://helenstravelblog.blogspot.com/2010/09/cambodia-sightseeing.html

Saturday, September 4, 2010. After exploring Bayon, we went to a series of structures around the Royal Palace: the Elephant Terrace, the Terrace of the Leper King, and the Baphuon Temple. All of these ruins still had many remaining reliefs left for tourist to enjoy and take in. We even climbed on top of several temples, which was a good challenge for my fear of heights. After a delicious lunch of Khmer food (fish soup- -yum! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Cambodia: More local attractions.

Helen's Travels: January 2010

http://helenstravelblog.blogspot.com/2010_01_01_archive.html

Friday, January 22, 2010. The “real” African experience. Our trip to Lagos, the former capital, was also adventurous. The domestic terminal in Abuja is quite a zoo: lots of people; one gate for all departures; no ID shown at any point; water and other liquids can be brought in; you walk to the airplane and on the way identify your luggage, then get patted down before entering the plane; and the best part…the seating is not assigned! Friday, January 15, 2010. More impressions from Nigeria.

The Law of Attraction Meets Your Soul's Purpose | Living Your Purpose While Making A Living

The Law of Attraction Meets Your Soul's Purpose. Living Your Purpose While Making A Living. Gratitude: A Deeper Practice. January 25, 2012 by Helen Collins. Spending time daily in gratitude helps us remember and realize our blessings, and the focus draws more of the same to us. When I was doing my Gratitudes this morning, my meal blessing “showed up” and I began using the words to bless the animate and inanimate things, and the people, in my life. Tagged All That Is.
