Argyll and Bute Championships. Helensburgh Amateur Swimming Club recently hosted the 3. Annual age group competition of the season. The Freestyle event went very well and was the first competition where the swimmers competed against other swimmers dependant on time, regardless of gender in the 10 years and above age groups. This proved successful and saw the club swimming the majority of the competition with mixed heat events, for the first time with some excellent results. Read more: Freestyle AGC 2014.

Argyll and Bute Championships. The championships are open to all club members. The races are swum over 5 different nights with a different stroke at each gala to cover all strokes, backstroke, breaststroke, butterfly and frontcrawl, plus an individual medley, which consists of all 4 strokes. The Age Group the swimmer competes in for 2016-2017 season, depends on their age as at 31 December 2016. 7 Years and Under 25m Backstroke, Breaststroke, Frontcrawl and Butterfly, plus 100m Individual Medley.

SUNDAY 0730 - 0930 POOL. Achieving or close to achieving Set times. Club Competitions (Age Group and Open). Enter external competitions as recommended by Coach. ( 1 subsidy per event for all external competitions excluding Argyll and Bute Championships). Follow Coach’s flexibility programme.

Argyll and Bute Championships. Club swimmers are split into 5 squads with the number of training sessions ranging from 2 sessions per week - Club 2 Squad, to the Gold Squad who will train 7 sessions per week (this includes Land Training sessions). All swimmers are expected to:. Be on poolside 10 minutes prior to the start of their session to complete their stretches on the area around the small pool (quietly). Behave themselves before, during and after sessions (even in the shower and changing areas).
