Saturday, October 17, 2009. For the past several weeks almost every trip I've made to Dallas involved a visit or two to this year's Texas State Fair. I finally got to go on the infamous Swan Paddle Boats. With my dad. For only $6 a person we had unlimited time paddling around the little lake out behind the Natural Science Museum. Dad became a kid again. He would slowly paddle up to perching turtle and scare the bejeesus out of them, laughing maniacally afterwards. Last of note was the wonderful job DART ...

HollyGoFuriously Adventures: Birthday in Northern California, Day 5: Big Sur Beauty

http://www.hillabeansadventures.blogspot.com/2009/09/birthday-in-northern-california-day-5.html

Sunday, September 20, 2009. Birthday in Northern California, Day 5: Big Sur Beauty. Happy Birthday to Me! I rented a car this morning and headed off to Monterey. Nearing the Pacific, I saw the dreaded sea mist / fog start to creep in. At first I thought it was smoke from a forest fire with the strange brownish tint but after much asking around I eventually learned this was par for the course. Since I made very good time, I decided to drive past Monterey to Carmel and beyond to Big Sur. I drove on past Ga...

HollyGoFuriously Adventures: August 2009

http://www.hillabeansadventures.blogspot.com/2009_08_01_archive.html

Monday, August 17, 2009. New York City Day 6: Last Day = Relax Day! I just saw a woman dying on the street, two funeral processions, and a man get punched in the same block in Chinatown. I think I'm ready to go home.". Although my day started off rough (all because I wanted a sesame ball. I found a castle. A moat, and ran into Strawberry Fields again. When I finally came to a clearing there I was, in front of the American Museum of Natural History. I nearly scarfed it down when a nice older Puerto Rican ...

Monday, September 21, 2009. Birthday in Northern California, Day 6: Highway 1. Although I didn't get to sleep in, I was extremely invigorated from the rest I got at the Jabberwock Inn. Those sleep number beds are great! The fog in Monterey was very thick today, despite news that a heat wave was supposed to come through and burn it away. I am not as depressed as I thought I'd be now that the celebrations are over because in a sense, I have one more day to explore then back to the comfort of home! The Boar...

Making the real and unreal really marketable. The way to his heart is through his upper digestive tract. What should I eat? I made lovely butter cookies. I should send you some. I'm lost without you. The luckiest little gal of them all. I've several things to be joyful about this season, in fact, i've actually had to start a little list. Really, guys. Bear with me. 1 I started working out three times a week again. Like, woah. Energy. 3 Speaking of keeping my hands busy, i've been sewing! But despite all ...

Majestic Makeshift Memoirs: Hell yes.

http://majesticmakeshiftmemoirs.blogspot.com/2009/11/hell-yes.html

Making the real and unreal really marketable. 8230;the filet mignon is the Paris Hilton of meat—lean and completely without personality. This is not the way to a chef’s heart…the real engine of gastronomy—now that I think of it—is poverty. Do you really think the first person to eat a snail was a gourmet? That was a poor son of a bitch. I tried reaching you via flickr mail, I wanted to check if I could still reach you at your Dallas address? November 18, 2009 at 5:23 AM. November 21, 2009 at 9:30 AM.

Making the real and unreal really marketable. I love making pizza on the weekends when i'm being lazy and I want a quick dinner, and this is a tried-and-true recipe that my apartment-visitors inhale quite often. 1 pre-made pizza dough (for two). 5-6 oz. of fresh mozzarella. 7-8 tablespoons sundried tomato pesto (recipe follows). 15 large leaves of fresh basil, torn. About a handful of pine nuts. 1 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil. I often wonder how much i'd flip out if I didn't have my moleskine on me.

Majestic Makeshift Memoirs: Best Greek pasta salad

http://majesticmakeshiftmemoirs.blogspot.com/2009/10/best-greek-pasta-salad.html

Making the real and unreal really marketable. Best Greek pasta salad. I absolutely love Bulgarian pure sheep's milk feta, but you can use any type of feta you'd like. However, I chose Bulgarian because I prefer a rich, buttery feta to compliment the lemon and walnut oil dressing I made the salad with. If you do use a more acidic, pungent, feta, I would suggest cutting back on the lemon juice. Half a package of farfalle (6 oz). 8 oz sheep's milk feta. 2 cloves of garlic, finely minced. 1/4 cup walnut oil.

Making the real and unreal really marketable. 20 10, 2009. Oh yes. It's that time of the year when I scour my iTunes for anything that came out last year that I had. Missed listening to and perform a mad harkening sweep of it all, and in doing so, get all gushy about the albums that are engraved into my memories of the past year, which my family members then mistake for christmas spirit, of which I have little. So, here you go kids. My top albums and singles of 2009. 20 Japandroids, Post-Nothing. Favorit...

It’s a question that many of us have asked ourselves when difficulties come, when death or grief consumes us, when financial stress or job losses occur, or health issues linger, or divorce or relationships end.
