Another Day In Paradise: September 2013
http://pleasesaysomethingremotelyintelligent.blogspot.com/2013_09_01_archive.html
Another Day In Paradise. Bloom where you're planted. Tuesday, September 24, 2013. Sweet, Oh So Sweet. I've been volunteering nearly continuously in Scouting programs for our church since 1990. I've been in Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts, and for the most part it has been a lot of fun. Until recently. I got up and walked out. Just couldn't take it anymore. And he would train my replacement, even though neither of them knows how to keep records. Fine, you're on your own. Sunday, September 8, 2013. It's consider...

Another Day In Paradise: October 2013
http://pleasesaysomethingremotelyintelligent.blogspot.com/2013_10_01_archive.html
Another Day In Paradise. Bloom where you're planted. Wednesday, October 2, 2013. We moved often because of my dad's career in the military, and I really thought about what it would have been like for those who left their families behind and never, ever saw them again. When the Ingalls family left Wisconsin to head west, their extended family was just as close as mine was. But once they were gone, that was pretty much the end of that. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Ambrosia: September 2009
http://ambrosiaparadise.blogspot.com/2009_09_01_archive.html
Thursday, September 24, 2009. From the Dr. Oz Website: A Cowboy Goes Vegan. Saturday, September 5, 2009. I've made this recipe for years and years. It's from a Betty Crocker cookbook called "Southwest Cooking" from 1989. I've made it so often that the book binding broke right at that page so it just falls open to it. This is a great recipe that even kids love. We usually have it with cornbread, which I will attempt to make with soy milk tonight. 3/4 cup chopped onion. 1 clove garlic, finely chopped.

Ambrosia: July 2010
http://ambrosiaparadise.blogspot.com/2010_07_01_archive.html
Wednesday, July 28, 2010. Want To Hang Out? Theresa and I were talking today. We're both knitters, and neither of us can ever seem to get aaaallllllllll the way across town to Borders for knit night (a 20 minute drive, but it feels like more). She had the brilliant idea to start our own, and I suggested that we not confine it to just knitting. So, if you're into knitting, crocheting, embroidery, tatting, smocking, or just plain mending! Leave a comment so I'll know who you are, please. But, as you know, ...

Ambrosia: Grilled Chicken & Pasta Salad
http://ambrosiaparadise.blogspot.com/2011/06/grilled-chicken-pasta-salad.html
Wednesday, June 1, 2011. Grilled Chicken and Pasta Salad. My friend Julie passed on this recipe to me, which she originally got from our local ABC channel here. I couldn't find it in the archive to link to it, so I'm reposting it here. Credit goes to Angie Larsen of KTVX here in Salt Lake City. Julie served this at a luncheon that Isabelle attended a few weeks ago, and she raved about it- with good reason! Grilled Chicken and Pasta Salad. 1 small pkg. spinach. 2-4 T sesame seeds. 1/2 c sunflower seeds.

Ambrosia: Mexican Salad
http://ambrosiaparadise.blogspot.com/2012/05/mexican-salad.html
Thursday, May 10, 2012. I'm ashamed that I haven't updated in so long. I hope you'll feel that this recipe was worth the wait! Mexican Salad was a standby in my house growing up. I have no idea where my mom got the recipe, but it's one of the few everyone in the family loves. With summer coming on, the last thing I want to do is turn my oven on. Having a go-to recipe that can be done in one pan on the stove is the perfect hot weather solution. 3/4 lb. lean hamburger. 1/2 c chopped onion. 2 T chili powder...

Another Day In Paradise: Some Goals for the Final Fifty
http://pleasesaysomethingremotelyintelligent.blogspot.com/2013/09/some-goals-for-final-fifty.html
Another Day In Paradise. Bloom where you're planted. Friday, September 6, 2013. Some Goals for the Final Fifty. Now that I know I only have about 50 years left to me, I need to get a move on. Here are some of my goals, which are vastly different than goals I would have made even a year ago. 1 Learn German again, but this time really well. I've heard German spoken since the day I was born, probably (since I was born in Germany), and yet I still don't speak it more than a few phrases here and there. 6 Buil...
