Turkeyboy's Girl: Strange Mormon Customs #4: Big Families
http://turkeyboysgirls.blogspot.com/2013/02/strange-mormon-customs-4-big-families.html
Tuesday, February 26, 2013. Strange Mormon Customs #4: Big Families. Once, when my husband told a co-worker that he had four children the man joked, "So are you Catholic or Mormon? And that was only for four. It is obvious why devout Catholics end up with big families. But Mormons? What is their deal? Do they not use birth control either? Do they get a tithing discount for every child they have? Are they doing it for tax incentives? Or are they trying to take over the world? Many people who don't have la...

Turkeyboy's Girl: Strange Mormon Customs #11: How We Pray
http://turkeyboysgirls.blogspot.com/2014/04/strange-mormon-customs-11-how-we-pray.html
Wednesday, April 23, 2014. Strange Mormon Customs #11: How We Pray. First, we kneel. Fold our arms,. And close our eyes. And then stay very still. Then we thank our Father in Heaven for all of our blessings. And then ask Him humbly for the things we need. It is not always easy to do all of this, especially when you are four years old, you don't want to go to sleep, and there are distractions. . . But we go through this ritual every night with our children. Nd his prayer was answered. We are trying to tea...

Backporch Friends: August 2014
http://backporchfriends.blogspot.com/2014_08_01_archive.html
Thursday, August 28, 2014. A BEFORE AND AFTER PROJECT. Sometimes I just live with things I have come to hate. Like our entry hallway off our garage. This is the door we use to get into the house 99% of the time, and it was way overdue for a paint job. The walls were stenciled (can we say 90's? And badly scuffed from years of neglect. Anyway, I had finally had enough. BEFORE-you can't see them but those stenciled patterns are under that white paint. This shovel should give me the leverage I need-right?

Backporch Friends: November 2012
http://backporchfriends.blogspot.com/2012_11_01_archive.html
Thursday, November 8, 2012. I wanted to make a quilt for my granddaughter Samantha. She helped to pick out these cute colors. I think it really reflects her personality! This will be for the main bunk. The flowers are 3-D. The small runner looking thing is for the 2nd bunk. I bought an expensive duvet from IKEA and this little bed runner will look cute at the bottom of the bed. There are 2 throw pillows -only one in the pic; and my favorite thing of all time to make-pillowcases! Links to this post. Creat...

Turkeyboy's Girl: How To Be Perfect
http://turkeyboysgirls.blogspot.com/2014/03/how-to-be-perfect.html
Tuesday, March 18, 2014. How To Be Perfect. There was a time, long ago, when I was perfect. It was in high school. I had perfect grades and perfect hair. I had perfect friends who did perfect things. I was perfectly behaved. I always made my bed. I won almost every contest I entered and qualified for every scholarship I applied for. I was graceful. I was fit. I baked pies. Perfect grades and I was almost. Graceful, and not quite. Fit enough. I won half. The contests I entered. And then . . . Then there a...
