Is it Spring Yet? Wow, this is my 201st post on my blog, I can't believe I had so much to write about :-). If you promise not to laugh, I will show you what I used. It's a table with a bag of cous cous on top of an upturned take-out tub on top of an upturned biscuit tin! Unconventional I know but it seemed to work. Ingenious . don't you think? Monday, January 26, 2015. Scones and The First Signs of Life In the Garden. Here is the recipe if you would like to have a go. It's from here. Preparation time: ab...

Acupuncture, A First For Me. Excuse the ugly feet . I snapped a quick photo with my iPad, because I wanted proof for my mum that I had actually been brave enough to try it. Wednesday, July 29, 2015. Scaring the Gardener and Dog Friendly Beaches in Cornwall. My neighbours are all used to me wandering through to the field dressed like this and never comment except, perhaps, to remark favourably on my choice of PJ's. Not so my new gardener! If you click here. Tuesday, July 28, 2015. I'm a total novice at th...

The New Poldark . Loving it! So, come on everyone. On this grey, gloomy day who would like a nice little picture to brighten things up a bit? The new series of Poldark started on Sunday and having never watched the original series, I thought I would give it a go and see if it was as awful as the Jamaica Inn series was. I absolutely loved it and quite frankly,. All I can say is . YUMMY! And that I want this ladies's job . please :-). Wednesday, March 11, 2015. I realise that cars need to be maintained and...

A Walk Down The Lane. Anyway, I snapped away as I was walking along taking loads of pictures and getting the hang of my new camera. Down the lane full of bluebells and wild garlic. One of my llamas in the distance. Wednesday, May 21, 2014. My New Picnic Bench. I had assumed that it would come as a table top, sides and seats that just needed joining together but boy was I wrong! For £48.99 you get planks of wood and a bag of screws! Anyway, yesterday I unearthed the tin of "Natural Stone" outdoor wood pai...

Boy It's Cold Outside! She basically turns this. All in about 10 minutes :-). I've asked her for a wreath with carrots and sprouts and broccoli on it this year and I get the feeling she isn't quite sure if I'm joking or not . I'm not :-) I really want a quirky wreath this year and I can't think of anyone better to make it. Sunday, November 30, 2014. Trerulefoot Local Produce Market. And, to top it off . I have rats in the garden! I live in the middle of the countryside and as such, I know that there will...

The water treatment system finally went in. It's taken 3 years and a lot of time and hassle to get things sorted but it's finally in. Considering the amount of stress it caused, in the end, it only took three days . well 3 days and lots of digging to make the 4 metre deep hole it had to go into! On a nicer note, it was my mum's 70th birthday at the start of July and we held a surprise afternoon tea for her at the lovely hotel where my daughter works. The Leopold Hotel. Wednesday, July 30, 2014. If you wo...

Still No Car and Thoroughly Fed -Up! See, I am totally feeling sorry for myself and really I need to snap out of it! I tried to do some hexie stitching outside in the sunshine but the racket from the chain saw and wood chipper was not conducive to the creative process so after 3 hexies, I gave up and came back inside to slump on the sofa, watch crappy day-time tv and sulk! Even this glorious rose, which appeared overnight, didn't help. Thursday, May 28, 2015. Day 4, Still No Car. Tuesday, May 26, 2015.

Apple Tree Disaster and a Question. Sadly, I was too late and one morning last week, I woke up to see this. One of my poor apple trees had fallen over in the night. It's a Christmas Pippin tree so the fruit is nowhere near ripe enough to pick and eat as eating apples so I'm hoping to use them as filling for crumbles and pies that I can freeze. I'm sure it will be ok but I'm guessing it might take quite a bit of sugar to make them sweet enough to taste ok. Thursday, August 27, 2015. I have washed everythi...
