Monday, April 13, 2009. Really didn't do squat today. i cleaned up the starter a bit, and while disassembing it i lost one of the two springs that press the brushes out. i was happy to see that the brushes still have a long way to go before they are worn out. the big diameter o ring that seals where the starter goes into the engine is broke, and i ordered a new one. Monday, April 20, 2009. I took the grips off of the parts scooter, and mounted them on the project bike. the red plastic buttons are in far better condition, and the recessed letters still have all of the white paint inside. The previous owner of the frankenscooter clearly did a better job of protecting it from UV damage. I wired everything together there at the top of the fork. It's perfect riding weather today, for the first time yet this year. too bad the scooter's STILL not done yet!

Sunday, June 29, 2008. Quickly removing everything, to get this scooter back down to just a frame. Wednesday, June 25, 2008. Removed the left rear shock. Removed the air box/back fender: gross! Retainer bracket: fat side, long bolt on left. Removed engine shroud and cylinder head. Shroud fasteners have carb cheese all over them, may need replaced. There's clearly been a leak around the oil pump. Lots of scoring is to be found on the piston, particularly on the exhaust side. Monday, June 23, 2008. Removed...
