Roux In A Wok: September 2012
http://rouxinawok.blogspot.com/2012_09_01_archive.html
Wednesday, September 26, 2012. We will be tapping into our New Orleans roots and pull out some good ole Mardi Gras tricks for the rising of the moon. The plan is to meet the community at our beach and watch the full moon rise! This turns into a really fun event for the kids-lots of glow sticks-and picnic food! Keeping track of the children is the hard part-once the sun goes down they all look alike-just 3 foot shadows with glowing necklaces! Posted using BlogPress from my iPhone. Sushi Session @ Sen-Ryo.

http://rouxinawok.blogspot.com/2013_08_01_archive.html
Tuesday, August 27, 2013. Not here in HK. Recently my Facebook feed has inundated with posts about Mommy Wars. Or how hard it is to be a mom these days. I asked a friend back in the states what was going on. She said, "You have no idea. Ever since Pintrerst. Birthday parties are freaking insane. Everything is crazy! Parents go nuts and I just can't keep up.". Hmm, just add this little war to the list of things I do not miss about living in the US at the moment. Sunday, August 18, 2013. Hit Fernando on yo...

Roux In A Wok: April 2012
http://rouxinawok.blogspot.com/2012_04_01_archive.html
Monday, April 30, 2012. Being an expat, one can expect to inherit things, mostly things with plugs, from other expat friends upon their relocation back home. This week, it was a bread maker that came my way. After a few flops, I'm proud to say I've mastered the machine! Here is my first successful loaf! It's a simple white bread with a medium brown crust. We ate it dipped in balsamic vinegar and olive oil. Delicious. Next.adding fresh rosemary. Posted using BlogPress from my iPhone. Its that time of year!

Responding to Beggars
http://www.alifeoverseas.com/responding-to-beggars
Voice of the National. Preparing and 1st Year. By Rachel Pieh Jones. April 2, 2015. I’m not even going to pretend to offer rules on how to respond to beggars. I’m not even going to define ‘beggar.’ There are lots of varieties of people who ask for money or help and I don’t like calling them beggars. I prefer to call them Saada or Abdul. But for simplicity, I’ll call them beggars. (The following was written after I read 9 Quick Tips for Responding to Beggars by Someone Who Knows Them. He looked at him.

Chris' Rants and Raves: March 2012
http://chris-rantsraves.blogspot.com/2012_03_01_archive.html
Chris' Rants and Raves. On all that makes life interesting. Saturday, March 3, 2012. Love comes in many forms.we say it so often , and for so many reasons, it becomes diluted and distorted. No wonder we are confused. A special some one walks in a room, a baby giggles, a favorite song, a friend or family remembers you with a kindness, God and country.all warm and fuzzy. When and where do we learn it? When or how do we unlearn it? Did they unlearn love somewhere along the way? Links to this post.

Chris' Rants and Raves: September 2010

Chris' Rants and Raves. On all that makes life interesting. Monday, September 27, 2010. RantRacism is alive and well! Being President While Black. By Gerald A. McIntosh. I'm quite old. I remember, vaguely, where my parents were on November 22, 1963. I've seen so many presidents. Some were feared, some were hated, some were adored, some popular and some not. But all of them, without exception, were treated with the highest respect deserving the office of the president of the United States . President Obam...
