Stella Bella Appliqué: June 2013
http://stellabellaapplique.blogspot.com/2013_06_01_archive.html
Sunday, June 30, 2013. I got a real surprise on Wednesday night! My quilt, "Love's Horizon," won two ribbons at the National Quilting Association's show in Columbus, Ohio: a first place in the duet category (it was beautifully quilted by Anita Shackelford) and a special recognition award, "Traditional: Remarkable Achievement in Classic Patterning." I wasn't there, but Anita Shackelford sent this photo of the quilt at preview night. It was very exciting! Links to this post. Wednesday, June 26, 2013. It to...

Stella Bella Appliqué: March 2014
http://stellabellaapplique.blogspot.com/2014_03_01_archive.html
Saturday, March 1, 2014. Home, sweet home! I have just returned from a wonderful week at The Elly Sienkiewicz Appliqué Academy. Which was held at the lovely Kingsmill Resort in Williamsburg, Virginia. Without a doubt, I had the most wonderful students ever in a full and then some class. These women were attentive, focused, funny, and kind. We had a blast! Here they are with their blocks in progress. That was a bunch of stuff to absorb! Now, they're ready to complete their blocks at home. I'm in love with...

Stella Bella Appliqué: Driven to distraction
http://stellabellaapplique.blogspot.com/2014/06/driven-to-distraction.html
Sunday, June 29, 2014. I’ve decided there should be no deadlines or "shoulds" in quilting as in, "I should be doing this or that." This is a good thing for me because I have been going in different directions lately. You may recall in my last post that I had fallen in love with an English paper piecing project from the most recent issue of Quiltmania. Here is the completed center of that project and I am well underway with the next round which are stars like the center hexagon. But more on that later.

Stella Bella Appliqué: February 2013
http://stellabellaapplique.blogspot.com/2013_02_01_archive.html
Friday, February 22, 2013. Fun at Appliqué Academy! Elly Sienkiewicz and I are standing in front of my quilt, "Love's Horizon,". A valentine for my niece, Emerson. It was expertly quilted by Anita Shackelford. I spent this past week in my version of quilter’s heaven at The Elly Sienkiewicz Appliqué Academy. This was my second year as a faculty member and it was a blast! My students were all devoted needle artists focused on learning new skills and working on their beautiful blocks. And we had lots of fun.

Stella Bella Appliqué: FAQ
http://stellabellaapplique.blogspot.com/p/faq.html
What inspires your work? Do you teach workshops? Are your patterns for sale? What inspires your work? Another source of inspiration comes from attending The Elly Sienkiewicz Appliqué Academy where I have learned so much over the years. Elly’s books and the quilts she has made or supervised offer great sources of inspiration. Looking at antique quilts that are now housed in museums, particularly those attributed to Mary Simon, also provide ideas. Do you teach workshops? Are your patterns for sale? The Ell...
