I will be starting a new blog about this next chapter in our lives. I will update when I begin it. A wise friend shared with me the difference of cherishing and clinging. I can allow myself to be sad, but If I find myself trying to hold onto all the feelings, emotions and live in a perpetual state of lamenting the losses, then something is wrong.

Looking for lanterns on what could be considered the last day of the festivities, results in slim pickins. Elliot's Angry Bird lantern not only had a rattling ball inside, it played music. In theory it is less dangerous because you hit it while it is stationary and not swinging around. I don't think the parents could have guessed that they had made an impenetrable fortress, a veritable stronghold that guarded the treasures inside. Sweeney Family goings ons. Wednesday, June 3, 2015. Nice duck face- Jane. My almost 12 year-old daughter- likes to hold her hand up in front of her face when I take a picture. This same girl has managed to take A LOT of pictures of herself with my phone. I want to protect my kids and I want to encourage them to interact with peers using face to face conversations, not through electronics. It is easy for me to become frustrated with her keen interest in social media. The reality is, it is no longer 1990.

Sweeney Family goings ons. Wednesday, March 25, 2015. It was "Good" Friday 2005 and Elliot Daniel came into the world a week earlier than expected. We didn't find out what we were having with either kid. Some surprises are really great. My first impression upon holding my new born son was that he looked like his dad, which is funny because one of my first impressions of Jane was that she looked like me. They are in fact mini versions of their parents. Can you take too many photos of a sleeping baby?

Sweeney Family goings ons. Friday, July 25, 2014. American Heritage Girls Regional Camp. The first regional camp for Michigan happened in July at a camp called Good News. There were girls from about five troops around the state. AHG MI1313 had one of the largest groups with eleven. The counselors at camp helping the girls form teams for capture the noodle.
