Part of our tradition is to to make an offering, “ofrenda” where we place the earthly pleasures like food, and decorate the altar with “papel picado” colorful paper like in this picture, and marigolds flowers. Mexico’s 200th birthday is coming next September 16th of 2010, so we have almost one year to get our ducks in a row, the mariachi band together and a good load of tequila and marguerita mix stored in the cellar.
