Monday, November 29, 2010. Finally. My First Hairy Crab. It's kinda. staring at me. It's not mud on the claws, well. not exactly. It's like mud matted fur. The magic part. The ROE (or fat, or whatever u call it.). Also there was some kind of gummy white stuff alongside the roe, kinda like squid roe, or is it the fat? It tasted like and had the texture of a ball of cooked starch. Quite unpleasant. But I ate it all because it was one expensive crab! Took me close to an hour to pick through one crab. Finall...

Wednesday, August 29, 2007. Chicken Adobo from my imagination. I don’t remember ever having a ‘proper’ chicken adobo. Despite having Filipino minders when I was a child, strangely we had little if no Filipino cuisine at home. Sad really, since there is a lot about Filipino food that is robust and flavourful (or so I’ve heard). As it is, Filipinos seem to love food as much as us Singaporeans anyways, so surely there is some correlation to deliciousness of cuisines there. Rough guide to Chicken Adobo.

Monday, August 28, 2006. National Dish If there was One! Sunday i had this. absolutely gorgeous innit? Chilli crab for lunch. Such a luxury. Did I say my mum is a genius cook as well? But yes. The flavour was perfect, not like the starchy versions you find at some seafood stalls. The only problem was that the crab shrivelled up in its shell after being cooked.
