A record of our travels. Filling in the blanks. October 5, 2014. We’ve been home for five weeks already (where has the time gone? And I have only just had a quick squiz through the photos on the main camera we took with us. So, here are the places I think we missed on the blog while we were there. In no particular order, and there are quite a few. Photos showing how the shops etc have been built into the landscape. Culloden Moor Site of the Battle of Culloden. Saw Kevin’s name on a coke label. London 26/08/2014 – part 1 | Hunters Holidaying
https://huntersholidaying.wordpress.com/2014/08/28/london-26082014-part-1
A record of our travels. London 26/08/2014 – part 1. August 28, 2014. One word to describe yesterday: wet. Our first really wet day all trip. We had a bike tour prebooked so off we toddled. Fortunately, because of the wet weather, there were only 6 of us plus the guide. The only statue of Henry VIII left that was erected in his lifetime. Had to hook hoods behind ears because when turning head to check for traffic, head turned inside the hood so we couldn’t see! Newer post →. Leave a Reply Cancel reply.
Brighton to London: Day 21 of bus tour | Hunters Holidaying
https://huntersholidaying.wordpress.com/2014/08/26/brighton-to-london-day-21-of-bus-tour
A record of our travels. Brighton to London: Day 21 of bus tour. August 26, 2014. We woke to wet and windy weather. We had free time in Brighton this morning. We had. Hot chocolate at Starbucks with some new friends from this trip then took some fun photos on Brighton Pier. The waters of the English Channel were pounding the beach. Brighton Pier from the bus as we were leaving. Leaving town we drove past a white “cliff”. We stopped for an early lunch in Royal Tunbridge Wells. A few hours later. Address n...
Cornwall excursion: Day 19 of bus tour | Hunters Holidaying

A record of our travels. Cornwall excursion: Day 19 of bus tour. August 24, 2014. We had 20 minutes wandering around Plymouth while others did an optional boat trip. Nothing was open so pretty boring… More old buildings. Not many though because Plymouth was a naval base during the war and suffered a lot of damage and pretty much had to be rebuilt. Another bright sunny day though. At the right times for us anyway. Only really overcast when we were travelling on the bus. Clever name, I thought. You are com...

A record of our travels. We’re off again! September 7, 2015. Since our UK trip last year I have become a convert of the small packing cube things. Even on small trips I have been using them. It makes it easier to pack and easier to find things while I’m away. This time, I have a bigger one for my exercise gear than I do for normal clothes. Giant’s Causeway–Part 2. October 7, 2014. When I was loading my photos a couple of days ago, I was. Found the missing photos. Filling in the blanks. October 5, 2014.

Mission Accomplished | The Tri Road
https://thetriroad.wordpress.com/2015/05/24/mission-accomplished
A journey to triathleticism…. Port Stephens Triathlon Festival Sprint Distance. For the first time (that I can remember) I enjoyed “the race” rather than the “sense of achievement” after enduring the race and finishing. I achieved a number of mini-goals in yesterday’s race. I didn’t end up having to make the hardest decision to wetsuit, or not to wetsuit. The swim was cancelled late Friday afternoon due to dangerous water conditions. It wasn’t any better by 10:15am Saturday morning. I wasn’t sure h...

A journey to triathleticism…. After my one and only olympic/standard distance triathlon. In March 2015, I decided I would go back to enjoying my sprint distance races. I’m just not fast enough to fit in the amount of training required for longer distance races. Trying to fit in two exercise sessions in one day along with all my other commitments was impossible. I pulled out of everything else I was involved in for a few months leading up to the race so I could get it done. And, I’ve paid an insane amount...

A journey to triathleticism…. A tale of epic proportions, you should probably grab a coffee. It’s long, but there are pictures. It’s late and my fingers ramble when I’m tired. Apologies to those who get bored – it’s kind of like the ultra-ironman of race reports.). There will be a little repetition here of snippets of previous posts as it’s hard to know what to put in and what to leave out. The summary at the end of my very first race report was:. I spent the next couple of hours watching my coach’...
Forster Challenge Experience – Part 2 | The Tri Road
https://thetriroad.wordpress.com/2014/11/14/forster-challenge-experience-part-2
A journey to triathleticism…. Forster Challenge Experience – Part 2. On Sunday, I experienced both the best and worst of my weekend. I was up even earlier than I was on Saturday because I had volunteered to help at a bike aid station for the Challenge Half (70.3km race). Selfies with the front facing camera on my phone don’t work well in low-light situations This was taken when I arrived at the transition area to sign on. The worst part of it was that we didn’t have anyone to practice on! There were many...
A testing day | The Tri Road
https://thetriroad.wordpress.com/2015/05/20/a-testing-day
A journey to triathleticism…. Today was a day for a few mini-tests to bolster my confidence prior to the triathlon this weekend (3 days to go). Since my last triathlon in March, I have spent less than 5 hours on my bike total and until today, none of those were outside. They were all on the trainer. There are many benefits of training on a windtrainer. You can do it when it’s windy, rainy or dark. I was worried that I will try to clip out with the wrong foot during the race like I did at one of our local...
More Milestones | The Tri Road
https://thetriroad.wordpress.com/2015/03/05/more-milestones
A journey to triathleticism…. Someone should create a list of athletic milestones. Off the top of my head, the events I can remember which I considered to be milestones at the time, were:. 8211; First finisher’s medal. 8211; First time swallowing a fly while running, then cycling. 8211; First ride with cleats. 8211; First stack off bike. 8211; First 5km run. 8211; First 10km run. 8211; First sub 8:00 km. 8211; First sub 7:00 km. 8211; First 6:00 km. 8211; First sub 35min 5km. 8211; First 20km ride. To tri or not to tri | The Tri Road
https://thetriroad.wordpress.com/2015/05/10/to-tri-or-not-to-tri
A journey to triathleticism…. To tri or not to tri. As I type, I am trying to decide whether to participate in the next triathlon I have entered. I earned a free entry into a Sprint distance triathlon on 23rd May by volunteering at Challenge Forster. It might be free but it was hard-earned! I had everything arranged (training plan and accommodation) but now I’m not sure I want to do it. The mental games (Olympics? Have started in my head. I emailed my coach:. I typed the email but I couldn’t send it.
Half Marathon! | The Tri Road
https://thetriroad.wordpress.com/2015/07/05/half-marathon
A journey to triathleticism…. I had three goals going into this race. 2 Within cutoff time. 3 Without needing medical assistance. I said to some friends that I’d be happy with an under 3 hour finish, very happy with 2:45 and ecstatic with 2:30 (which was my training and race plan). First and last half marathon completed. Which reminds me, this was my first personalised race bib. This was great at the back of the pack because the spectators had time to read it and could cheer you by name. And, yes, frame ...

A Blog for information on Hunter's in World of Warcraft (and maybe some other classes). So we’re well and truely into Cata…. There are a couple of things that drive me nuts though:. Especially if the pull was initiated by a Mage sheeping. You need to ensure that the correct CC order is followed and that is:. Sap Trap then the rest. 2 FIRE STILL HOT! Ok people, th...

Hunters Holidaying | A record of our travels
A record of our travels. Giant’s Causeway–Part 2. October 7, 2014. When I was loading my photos a couple of days ago, I was. Reasonably sure that I had taken more “close up” photos of the rock formations and photos trying to show the size and extent of the area but I couldn’t find them. While working on another project on the weekend, I remembered that I had taken a small compact camera with me which I only used on some days, preferring to use my phone for convenience. Aha! Found the missing photos.
