Under The Pepper Tree: No Attachment to Dust
http://me-underthepeppertree.blogspot.com/2011/03/no-attachment-to-dust.html
Under The Pepper Tree. Sunday, March 20, 2011. No Attachment to Dust. Zengetsu, a Chinese master of the T'ang dynasty, wrote the following advice for his pupils:. Living in the world yet not forming attachments to the dust of the world is the way of a true Zen student. When witnessing the good action of another encourage yourself to follow his example. Hearing of the mistaken action of another, advise yourself not to emulate it. Poverty is your treasure. Never exchange it for an easy life. Live with caus...

Under The Pepper Tree: Don't know what to call this post: 'My rants' would be appropriate. Ha!

Under The Pepper Tree. Friday, October 1, 2010. Don't know what to call this post: 'My rants' would be appropriate. Ha! Commitment to what exactly? To killing the competition, to stealing their customers from them? Only to the company and the people that work for it? What about the rest of humanity? What about the earth? What about the larger eco-system that we are an intricate part of? Do these values hold only towards ourselves? Without thinking about others? I mean what were they thinking? This Guatem...

Under The Pepper Tree: January 2010
http://me-underthepeppertree.blogspot.com/2010_01_01_archive.html
Under The Pepper Tree. Friday, January 29, 2010. Please recycle. Every little thing makes a difference. I read this article. In The Onion, and I think it is very apt. More often than not, I find myself in the shoes of the 30 million other people and wonder if just this once, just this piece of plastic, this cardboard box or even only this empty tin can, and of course it would be just me. One in a population of over 6 billion. Can it really be that bad? Yes, it can. And it is. Please recycle.
