THE MONTUCKY REVIEW: RECANTED
http://montuckyreview.blogspot.com/2015/07/recanted.html
Tuesday, July 14, 2015. There are hidden letters after x, y, z. Except in the dusty history halls in library whispers. Forgotten in the murk of the dark ages. When children would sing-song smiling. Through twenty-six friends,. Always in order, always tidy. The harmony rose up through the major scale. To resolve softly on the ultimate consonant. Before those toddlers’ faces turned grimace. To continue the blackly dirge. Past that darkened horizon lay horror. For in those hidden murky corners. Zygote in My...

The Ghost of Electricity: August 2005
http://ecstasyamongghosts.blogspot.com/2005_08_01_archive.html
The Ghost of Electricity. Tuesday, August 16, 2005. You don't need a weatherman to know which way the wind blows. The trees are pushing up into the fog. It looks like their heads are cut off. The fog is pushing down to the ground. The world seems pretty pissed off. There’s blood on the road here most of the time. There’s people yelling out in the night. There’s women sitting next to their telephones. Waiting for the ringer of fright. Sometimes I wonder what it’s all about. This addiction to power and fame.

The Ghost of Electricity: February 2011
http://ecstasyamongghosts.blogspot.com/2011_02_01_archive.html
The Ghost of Electricity. Saturday, February 26, 2011. At about 3 am I walked into the kitchen and turned on the light just in time to see a deer mouse scamper across the floor and disappear into a space that I would have a hard time slipping a piece of paper into. It was impressive. They're here. I know they're here. And I've purchased the traps. I just can't seem to get myself to set them. So I did the next best thing. ;). I wrote a poem. I hear them in the walls. And snow’s enormous silence. Then I "p...

The Ghost of Electricity. Monday, April 26, 2010. This morning….four sounds –. The rumble of rails on track,. The train’s deep whistle,. And the clang-clang of the crossing-bell. In the distant dark-. And it reminded me. Of the endless train of blessings. From so many dear friends. I was so grateful. That I could not sleep. Thank you all so much. April 26, 2010. John L.
