Steadfast Ahoy: Ahoy Flotilla!!
http://steadfastahoy.blogspot.com/2015/07/ahoy-flotilla.html
Tuesday, July 14, 2015. In 1780, Marquis de Lafayette captained L'Hermione across the Atlantic from France to America. "She sails like a bird" he exclaimed. Between 1780 and 1783, the Hermione was directly involved with America as she fought against the British in the Revolutionary War. In high spirits we set out. Back to the head of the Cape. Now the fog was back and it was an issue. Hmmmm. In Parade Dress, this sailboat almost got lost in the fog. Well, THAT was a cannon, and close by! Now everyone con...

Steadfast Ahoy: Bankrupt!
http://steadfastahoy.blogspot.com/2012/02/bankrupt.html
Wednesday, February 1, 2012. The beach and pool were deserted again today. Good news for those of us liking the privacy and freedom to go bikini-clad in all our flabbiness. Bad news for the marina owner/operators languishing in the doldrums of receivership. And tell me this doesn't look like heaven on earth. Now look at photos from a slightly different angle showing the damage, neglect or squalor that would rather be ignored. Buildings are left unfinished, crumbling and rotting before they've even been c...

Someone knocked on our door. Okay then, let's see what's going on. I staggered to the balcony window. We're in the gorges. Where's my camera? I liked that opening. It kind of grabs your attention, right? But before I show you those photos, we need to back up one day and talk about the. Yangtze River dam, The Three Gorges Dam.

Steadfast Ahoy: It's A Small World
http://steadfastahoy.blogspot.com/2012/03/its-small-world.html
Friday, March 23, 2012. It's A Small World. We have arrived at Atlantis. Once again. For almost 12 years, Steadfast has come and gone from the port of Nassau and never graced the docks of this august realm. This season, we are now amazed to report our third visit in three months! I LOVE it here! Yesterday, we pulled into Paradise with two seasick guest-sailors aboard, just around mid-afternoon. Our slip assignment put us alongside the Discoverer. On one side and Modus Vivendi. They do things the hard way.

Wednesday, July 13, 2011. It's July and that means the television is set to the Tour de France 24/7 at my house. In 1903, 60 men raced 2500 km. around the country of France on bicycles to publicize "L'Auto Magazine" . The rest is history. In 1995, when Miguel Induran and Lance Armstrong were the riders of the day, my husband and sons were riding 100 mile races and for our family, the rest is history- we all do the daily, armchair race review every year. Main group of riders), the drama of the spectacular.
