http://davidfield.blogspot.com/2015/02/reutte-first-month-of-2015.html
Monday, 9 February 2015. Reutte the first month of 2015. I have found the worker here harder, then what it was in Traiskirchen For me it has been harder to really make contacts / to get through the door into the rooms of the Refugees or to build up a rapport with the refugees that goes deeper. like the ones I had before. The beginning of 2015 has been hard. But I am sharing my life, I am being here for them. I am doing my best to open those doors. Another thing that I have been contemplating is how to in...

Depth of Field: We are full
http://davidfield.blogspot.com/2015/08/we-are-full.html
Saturday, 1 August 2015. Over the last month the refugee situation in Austria, especially the over crowding in Traiskirchen Refugee camp has been in the local newspapers everyday. Currently there are 4500 Asylum seekers in the Refugee camp, that is set up with only 2000 beds. It was in the papers today that Traiskirchen has stopped taking in Refugees as, they are now unable to keep the standards that UNHCR requires for housing refugees. Refugee Guys outside lining up for food. Pray that many of the refug...

Thursday, 23 July 2015. During the Month of July Emily came to visit me in Austria. I have known Emily since 2012 when I went to Kenya to look into a Ministry opportunity working amongst Somali Refugees in Nairobi. Me and the Ministry team did not work out,. But through Skype and Phones calls I had kept in touch with Emily and over the time our friendship has grown to the point that last week while in Vienna I asked her to be my wife. I enjoyed playing tour guide for her in Vienna. Many things still need...

Tuesday, 25 August 2015. Scooby, Scooby, I am so so Sorry. Don't be Your Movies a hit. In the week of August International Teams held it's bi-annual European conference in Schwablisch Gmund which lucky for me was only 2 hours away by car. A high light for me was having members of the Australian Iteams National office there (seen in the Australian class photo found above.). It is Iteams policy that Emily will also have to become a member of Iteams Australia. Monday, 24 August 2015. With my wedding coming ...

Depth of Field: October 2014
http://davidfield.blogspot.com/2014_10_01_archive.html
Wednesday, 15 October 2014. David on the road. A few weeks ago I bought a 2008 Peugeot 207 to help me get around and be used for ministry. The day I bought the car it was used to shuffle a Refugee family to the Church camp. It is a bit of a tiny car but it is light on the petrol and perfect to whizz around the narrow streets of Europe, as well as easy to park then the old Oasis Van used to be. David liked high places. One of the most profound moments of my life happened when I was in Zimbabwe in 1999.

Sunday, 20 July 2014. Have the battle on the route was not hitting a rollerblader or being run off the way by a wayward crooked riding bike rider. I have also noticed that the bicycle lanes in Vienna are a free for all. Most of the time riding around Traiskirchen i hardly had any trouble with fellow bike riders. Never the less I am not in Austria to go on late night rides around the streets or suffer Cycle rage on the bike paths. In August I will move to Reutte an finally begin the new Ministry there.

Wednesday, 14 January 2015. My elder sister her kids and my Late Grandfather. Early this week my Grandfather went to be with the Lord. Because of his age, I knew when I left to come back to Austria that he may pass while I was away. I was only later in his life did he start marching in the Anzac Parades, and the legend of the Kokoda Trail take on more significance. My Grandpa was a Hero to me, not only for defending my Country. Monday, 25 August 2014. I am here, Reutte, West Austria. On Saturday I caught my final train to Reutte. Were I plan to spend the next few years working with International Teams with their ministry to the Refugees here. About 60 Asylum seekers are housed in a refugee house on top of a hill. My role will be working with the guys of the camp. I heard recently that 8 Iranian's were baptised in the local Reutte church, so their is a possibility of starting a bible study in the camp with them. After telling a ...

Wednesday, 10 September 2014. Last week I asked one of the Iranians what do they need while the wait for Asylum. We need work and we need to learn German'. Great here I am, and I can give then neither. Intertreff has a volunteer who comes to teach them German, as well the Pension has a German course for them Wednesday mornings. The local council gives the Refugees jobs of cutting grass and gardening jobs every now and then. Yesterday I went car shopping, with my little money I have for a car. So hope...
