Melzee's Meanderings: Confessions of a Quiltaholic. Monday, March 12, 2012. A MUCH NEEDED DISTRACTION. Have you ever been in a match of wits with a quilt? Well I am in the middle of my second Scrap Squad quilt and having that problem. Now I have to say that it's not the quilts fault. So that leaves me to blame. Sometimes you just have to walk away and do something for a while that is different and hopefully will give you either a break or a fresh perspective when you return. In one of my past blogs, I ta...

Shush children! The muse is visiting. #funforFriday TwynMawrMom

The Performer in Me. The Most Basic About Me Ever. Friday, July 26, 2013. The muse is visiting. #funforFriday. So remember this pile of fabrics from earlier this week. Well yesterday morning I just up and started cutting it. This happened very quickly. But as usual, not very cleanly. I tidied it up a bit, with the girl's direction [she wanted shorter.]. Here's the fun part: I wasn't making this for the shop, just my little girl. And by love and chance, I got the inspiration. I thought I was done. I insti...

Lotta Quilting: June 2015
http://lottaquilting.blogspot.com/2015_06_01_archive.html
Promised quilts, exchanges and projects for 2016. Thursday, June 11, 2015. Two finishes, some kind of wonderful. Oh yes, two done, I'm smiling here! Edward's quilt is all finished and I even washed it for him. The quilting really shows off the waves in the quilt. I'm so glad I remade it and got this pattern set up. And remarkable it is that I got it made and finished all in one year's time. Labels: 2015 UFO Nunber Challenge. Monday, June 8, 2015. Getting closer to some finishing. I have been busy doing l...

Color, Creating and Quilting!: January 2017
https://colorcreatingandquilting.blogspot.com/2017_01_01_archive.html
Shadow Block Mini Gallery. Sunday, January 29, 2017. My daughter asked me what I wanted for my birthday and I told her a pretty sign for my sewing room. So she made me this! Thank you, Ashley! She has to have her cat in all her pictures whenever possible, apparently. And I was very surprised she let me post a picture of her with her hair in disarray. Keepin' it real! If you are disappointed at not seeing any quilts, you can read about my first 2017 finish, my first BIG finish, and my 6th finish ever!

Melzee's Meanderings: Confessions of a Quiltaholic: I must be a real quilter now!

Melzee's Meanderings: Confessions of a Quiltaholic. Monday, October 15, 2012. I must be a real quilter now! Currently I'm working on our last 2 Scrap Squad quilts, so I can't post any pictures of those right now. But as I have been cutting and sewing on both of them, I realize how many projects I have "in progress". I used to wonder at my peeps as they would begin one quilt only to put it aside and begin another one. That USED to drive me bonkers! I really love paper piecing, so this was a really fun qui...

Lotta Quilting: Getting closer to some finishing
http://lottaquilting.blogspot.com/2015/06/getting-closer-to-some-finishing.html
Promised quilts, exchanges and projects for 2016. Monday, June 8, 2015. Getting closer to some finishing. I made this a year or two or more ago. I kept thinking about it and one day took it down set it up and proceeded to quilt it. I used the walking foot and just sewed in the ditch on either side of the red strip in each block. I extended the quilting into the borders. Binding is attached waiting for me to get to it. Mostly an update on the ongoing EPP project. I'm ready to attach the second row. Jelly ...
