Bacigalupi studied Environmental Sciences and Physical Chemistry at UCSB. He then earned a Masters in Architecture at CU Denver. His design practice cross fertilized with his science education to manifest a new approach to cognition and AI. Over the last 8 years he has been researching these novel approaches. Through I. AM he will continue to refine this research in an effort to realize a prototype that can be tested for cognitive behavior and be integrated into many practical applications.
