My Garden Room: January 2013
http://garden-of-rachel.blogspot.com/2013_01_01_archive.html
Thursday, January 17, 2013. When my daughter came back from Australia, she brought home some belts. My sister, Amanda, had also bought quite a few for me when she went to England last year. With such a 'large' collection of belts, I decided to make a belt hanger for my daughter. I bought a set of wooden hangers from Ikea, and some metal hooks from a hardware shop. The hooks were screwed into the hangers. There were hooks on both sides of the hanger. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). View my complete profile.

My Garden Room: June 2013
http://garden-of-rachel.blogspot.com/2013_06_01_archive.html
Sunday, June 30, 2013. I have a shrub of bamboos at a corner of my garden. New shoots appear after each rain, and they grow really fast. The bamboo poles are rather slender, making painting not very easy. I used acrylic paint to paint on the pole, and it was not easy for the paint to stick on it. It took time for the paint to dry before a layer of different colour could be applied. Even though we had very hot sun, drying could take more than a day. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). My Garden Room: Spray Painting
http://garden-of-rachel.blogspot.com/2013/12/spray-painting.html
Tuesday, December 17, 2013. When I was shopping last week, I saw a metal painting which was priced at a hundred ringgits. I went home and dug out a few metal sheets that I saved from old CPU casings, bought a few cans of spray paints and tried my hand at spray painting. Hard at work. :-). My Garden Room: April 2013
http://garden-of-rachel.blogspot.com/2013_04_01_archive.html
Thursday, April 18, 2013. The renovation of my garden room was completed in December last year, but it took me a few months to get the curtain that I wanted. My daughter patiently accompanied me to drapery shops, though there were not that many in this little town of Ipoh. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). View my complete profile. My Life. My View. My Garden Room: July 2012
http://garden-of-rachel.blogspot.com/2012_07_01_archive.html
Thursday, July 19, 2012. Some years ago, when my children were still small, roselle drink and preserved roselle could be found in supermarkets. The drink tasted like Ribenna, but with attractive red colour. Over 50 roselle calyxes were sold by an old lady at only RM3. I wish she would ask for more! It was the first time I found them in a market. Remove the calyx to expose the seed pod inside. The seeds are tiny, black and heart-shaped. I used the seeds to grow new plants. My Garden Room: Frosted Plastic Sheet
http://garden-of-rachel.blogspot.com/2014/09/frosted-plastic-sheet.html
Saturday, September 13, 2014. I tried to paint some pictures using acrylic paint but it was hard to cover most of the glass. I came across frosted glass spray paint on the Internet but I could only get it at KL, and it was very costly. I stumbled upon frosted plastic adhesive sheet at Jusco and it cost much less. Rather boring. Cut out some parts to let the light inside shines through, or to allow me to see a little bit of outside when I am inside. I used acrylic paint to paint the flowers.

My Garden Room: May 2013
http://garden-of-rachel.blogspot.com/2013_05_01_archive.html
Wednesday, May 29, 2013. A Book Shelf of Shoes. I have a TV cabinet which I use to store my shoes. It is rather unsightly to display shoes in a living room. I found some very old books which were destined for a pulp factory. I carefully removed the spines of these books and joined them together into a panel of book spines. I taped the book spines to the glass of the door. It looked like that I was having a library of books in my cabinet. :). Sunday, May 26, 2013. Palm Tree Leaf Sheath. I bought this posy...

My Garden Room: A fan-like palm frond
http://garden-of-rachel.blogspot.com/2015/07/a-fan-like-palm-frond.html
Tuesday, July 28, 2015. A fan-like palm frond. There is a palm tree across the road outside my house, and it has beautiful fan-like fluted leaves which are big, about 2 feet across. I used it as a background. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). View my complete profile. My Life. My View. A fan-like palm frond. Little mat for my little cushions. Picture Window template. My Garden Room: Little mat for my little cushions
http://garden-of-rachel.blogspot.com/2015/07/little-mat-for-my-little-cushions.html
Tuesday, July 28, 2015. Little mat for my little cushions. I picked up a large palm frond from the roadside. I cut out the leaflets, washed then ironed them flat. When I ironed them, it gave a fragrant palm smell, a the surface became glossy because of the palm oil that permeated out. I weaved the leaftlets into a mat. I used white glue to glue the edges.
