moonflower raw: Untouchable Girls
http://moonflower-raw.blogspot.com/2011/01/untouchable-girls.html
Tuesday, January 25, 2011. Linda and Jools Topp, Cathedral Square, Christchurch. Today, I found myself taking in the atmosphere in Cathedral Square where the World Buskers Festival. Brought cheer to the earthquake-ravaged city. Of course I had to come in to witness The Topp Twins. Doing what they do best - entertaining. These girls are part of my personal (and political) history, growing up in Aotearoa NZ. And I have something in common with Jools. It seems that their documentary Untouchable Girls. Silve...

moonflower raw: November 2009
http://moonflower-raw.blogspot.com/2009_11_01_archive.html
Sunday, November 29, 2009. MLM goes organic : can this work? Not quite community-supported agriculture, but only in the US and Canada could they come up with a scheme such as this. Organic Acres. But the question comes up again, can "big organic" work. Does it make sense to set up a system such as this, built so strongly around a money system that is starting to fall down around our ears? Could a bartering system work better? Are there other ways of funding such an initiative? Tuesday, November 10, 2009.

moonflower raw: on matters of meat
http://moonflower-raw.blogspot.com/2011/07/on-matters-of-meat.html
Monday, July 25, 2011. On matters of meat. I have just posted on Facebook. About the recently released report, Meat Eater's Guide to Climate Change and Health. Thanks to our friends at the Environmental Working Group. Who have produced a very clever little chart. Which shows us which meats (and animal "products") have the most environmental impact. You would think that it would be easier to simply switch to eating vegan wholefoods. But no. And then enter stage left, George Monbiot. Labels: food and health.

Sunday, December 19, 2010. Jessica and Bob at Byron Markets. Raining today at Byron Markets, but Bob was still there with his chemical-free fruit and vegetables. Jessica came along for the tomatoes (and Russian cucumbers). Normally plums are not my favourite fruit, but these ones were deliciously sweet. Bob grows all this wonderful produce at his property in Dunoon. Bob and Jessica and Bob's splendid market stall. You’ll find Bob at the local Sunday markets. Saturday, December 18, 2010. As Menkit points ...

Sunday, July 11, 2010. A pleasant three hours weeding the veggie garden today. I love the way that gardening connects me with mother earth, with nature and with the magic of the present moment. No past, no future, just this moment. And the next. And the next. It seems a shame to have to pull all this stuff out. I am aware of how many wild edibles. Have been wrenched from their homes. But hey, more will grow. And our own Melbourne-based Adam Grubb. I'm thrilled to see that folk in my home town. Is another...
