Response to “Alec Couros”. Feed for this Entry. March 8, 2011 at 4:13 am. In was a good presentation. I really liked what he said about schools being liable for NOT educating their students about the dangers online. I think we are slowly seeing a paradigm shift in the way school administrators think and relate to the internet. I predict that very soon we’ll see ICT in the classroom as the norm rather than the exception. I think the internet is about to become a very big part of teaching.

His whole idea was the same as we are doing in our Internet for Educator’s class. The more focus was to use social networking sites, role of blogging in the education, using ted talk, Google docs, and personal learning networks. 1 Be ready to teach any subject and any grade level. 2 Balance your personal and professional life. 3 Get to know about community in which you are teaching. 4 Find out what are the expectations of your principal. 5 Be organize and prepare everyday in your first year of teaching.

Just another WordPress.com site. Darren Kuropatwa (MB Ed). Darren came in and gave us an excellent presentation with lots of new ideas. I’ve seen him in the past in another of Mike’s courses. Darren discussed the 3 principles of student learning. I totally agree with his idea of making mistakes on purpose while teaching, it helps students be more comfortable in class making mistakes. I also buy into his idea of getting students involved in their learning, and creating materials to help others learn.
