The question of ratings | I think about wine

https://ithinkaboutwine.wordpress.com/wine-ratings

I think about wine. The question of ratings. The question of ratings. So, I’ve got an ongoing crisis of faith with regard to wine ratings. I’m not a fan of the 100-point system. You can read my full dissertation on this subject here. 4 Awesomes – One of the best wines of it’s kind I’ve ever had. 3 Awesomes – An excellent wine, I would absolutely drink it again, and you should totally try it. 2 Awesomes – A good wine. I’d drink it again, but no great tragedy if I never do. 0 Awesomes – Drink water. This s...

I think about wine. The question of ratings. Dear every winery website. On June 10, 2015. Dear every wine website,. I’m assuming I’m not gonna get a lot of pushback on this argument, but just in case I do, let’s address every argument I can think of for why this age verification should exist. And that’s all. That’s the only reason that exists for making me pick a random date before 1994 before I can get on your website and find out how much Zinfandel is in your proprietary red blend. Because they are not...

2015 | I think about wine

https://ithinkaboutwine.wordpress.com/2015

I think about wine. The question of ratings. Archive for 2015 Yearly archive page. Mancan: the latest thing I hate. On November 24, 2015. I’m not going to link to it, because I don’t want to run the risk of driving traffic to their website, but suffice it to say, yet another product has hit the market that is trading on the tropes of wine being “too complicated” and “not manly”, both premises that I find generally offensive. Here’s why. Mancan. Gender equality can go fuck a rock. But Mancan trades on not...

I’m legitimately sick of having this conversation. | I think about wine

https://ithinkaboutwine.wordpress.com/2015/05/31/im-legitimately-sick-of-having-this-conversation

I think about wine. The question of ratings. I’m legitimately sick of having this conversation. On May 31, 2015. It happened again. Somebody got on a mission to prove that wine snobs are all full of shit, and then did a ‘study’ to prove it, and now it’s all over my goddamn Facebook, and I am sick of it. Joss Fong published a column entitled Expensive Wine is for Suckers. With all due respect to Mr Fong (very little), I’d like to suggest he cram this title up his ass. Ok, I’m calmed down now. June 10, 2015.

Growing naturally grown produce and cut flowers using organic principles. Sunday, August 16, 2009. Vodka-Spiked Cherry Tomatoes with Pepper Salt. It's tomato season and we have loads, so I thought that it would be appropriate to serve them two ways at the party I attended last night. These are definitely an adult treat.
